Still woke up clammy and freezing! Tears!
No kidding. My mom asked what I was laughing at and i had to tell her.
LOL, if a guy googled it and saw this he would be like, "WTF?" LOL
so glad to "see" you smiling girl!
hang in there, relief will come soon.
hugs,
Lily
sara - what a GREAT idea!! I too think I covered up the early symptoms of menopause with the pills. And BOY did they come back with a full vengeance after I quit. I actually have a fan at my desk at work too - and I don't care what people think. Let me tell you - if even ONE man had to suffer what we go through during menopause (ah hell, what we go through in LIFE), they'd all be jumping off bridges.
We are just STRONGER - girl power totally rocks. lol :) (and yes, mommy - enjoy 26 - you won't have to deal with this for a very long time!!)
Lol. I honestly think my post just won for the most interesting thread of the week lol. New people probably think we are all wacko. Can you imagine doing a web search on withdrawal night sweats like I have done so many times and reading all this? Too funny. I love med help. It's like my own little crazy Internet family.
yeah, if your shoes are pinching your feet, wear some really uncomfortable earrings and it will fix it!! lol.
glad to see you have your sense of humor.
you are doing great.
hugs,
Lily
Bahaha!!! I love you all!! Forget my night sweats thank god I'm only 26 and not going through menopause! You all made me forget all about it.
mispelled above meant to say the narcotics were MASKING them, not making them, LOL
OMG YES!!!!!
HA!!! check this out! I had a full hysterectomy back in 2000, suffered from anxiety hot flashes for years. The hot flashes would have been toerable, but I would get a rush of anxiety first, and that is how I knew the heat was coming. I could time it, the anxiety would hit, last about 120 seconds, which mkaes you grit your teeth, and then the heat comes, and that lasts about 3 minutes. Not too long, but every 15 minutes is enough to drive you nuts.
soooo, after starting with the vocodin the flashes went away. I did not associate the vicodin with the relief of the flashes, I just though, ahh finally they are gone. Well guess what ..... here the narcotics were just making them, and they are back. I can however now distingusih a WD flash from a menopause flash, but at first I couldn't.
I saw my new family idiot, I mean doc, and asked him about the new studies done on HRT, now they are saying it is not as dangerous as perviously stated, and this idiot said, "uhhh no too dangerous," and I said, "did you read the new studies?" and hse said, "too dangerous" and i thought, alright idiot, I will ask my gyn, so I have an appt on August 6th. yay!
hugs,
Lily
Now, there you go! Great idea!
Maybe we need a forum for recovering addicts in menopause!!
Go and look at what i wrote to you yesterday on your thread.......
for me I felt so great the first night I didn't wake up and have to change my pajamas at least 3 times during the restless night. I think it was like 18 days in. Yeah, it took a while for me, and I still get the sweats, and I am on day 33, but not as bad as before. I do wake up a little sweaty, and sometimes a little cold and sweaty, but nowhere near the drenching I used to get. My hands nad feets are still clammy. I had abusiness deal yesterday and could not shake the woman's hand, I told her, sorry, My hands are so clammy today. I was embarrassed, but not too much, lol.
So now its not to bad, and I can live with it, because otherwise I feel great,
hugs and keep up the great work!
Lily
As i sit here writing this i am dripping with sweat...gotta love menopause!! I agree with ImDone, get a fan and crank that sucker up. I would curl up and die without one!!
Hey, ImDONE! What is Perimenopause? I'm just curious because I think I'm in Meno-Monopause! LOL! You can PM me it you want to answer! I would appreciate it!
I apologize for the brief hijack, scaredmommy!
scared - try keeping a fan on at night - I find that to be a HUGE help for me for the night sweats - I'm no longer in withdrawal (thank g-d) but dealing with another issue (perimenopause) - and having the fan on at night has changed my life! Might sound stupid, and simple, but it's true!
Lord I wish I could answer that one, I'm on day eleven and I still sweat all the time and still chill to the bone but I was on alot of stuff for five years. anywhere from five to more hydrocodone a day plus neurotin and fiorcet for five years so I realize my journey is diffrent than yours I think you are doing amazing you go girl. just take it one min at a time that is what I'm doing. love to all wish someone would answer that question how long do you have to have the runs and sweat sweat sweat sweat shew my deordrant doesnt stand a chance bless our poor armpits and other areas of our abused lil bodies. I hate to think how much dang poision I have filtered out of my body love and light to all out there lets keep the good fight up cause its our lives we are fighting for and its worth it or I keep telling myself that it helps. Ps plus mscotin for about three weeks boy I'm a glad that got messed up and I only took it for three weeks cause from what I understand that is not a drug you even wanna be messen with.....
Idk. For me its not that bad at night. But I keep my air on at 68. So its never hot in here. My armpits are sweating constantly. Could it be anxiety or bad dreams maybe??? Or is that what happens to most people?
But I don't sweat during the day just at night.
Im still sweating and my feet are cold too. Im not sure how long it will last. Today I was so embarrassed, I wore a tube top to my daughters talant show, and had sweat dripping from my armpits. Gotta remember to wear sleeves... I dont think that it will last forever. But just hang in there. Youre almost there.
I was back in feb taking 10-12 10mg norco a day and I quit. I had surgery 2 weeks ago and was put back on it. I took it as prescribed but I'm on day 3 of withdrawals
im new to here and also going through WD from vicoden. What were you taking and how much for how long?
