TRAMADOL WITHDRAWAL

TRAMADOL WITHDRAWAL

I posted this question in before and had two responses. Please help me. I have beeen taking the satanic pill Tramadol for 6 months. I stayed pretty much on the 6 a day prescription after 3 months of taking 7.5 vicos. I have been lying to everyone about my usage and for the last 3-4 weeks I was taking as many as 18-20 a day. Last Sunday, Novemeber 14th, I went from 20 to 15 in one day, Then Monday I took 8, and now today I am going to take 6. I am having lots of anxiety with guilt and lots of crying. Not much pain or stomach issues, just anxiety. I would trade all the withdrawal symptoms for no anxiety. I can't take it. All of sudden zaps in my arms and in my chest I feel something turning. I am 36 year old male, who has been taking Lexapro for sometime. I don't drink, smoke, or do any other drugs. I have a beautiful wife and two fantasitc children, 5 is my little girl and 2 is my little boy. They are seeing me go through this.  Plus , I have a great sales job, which I had to take off a week for.  My boss said that I would probably have to go on short term dissabilty and I told him everything. Does anyone know how long this will take. If I have days to look forward to, it would help tremendously. My biggest plus is that I am a Christian, and love the Lord. I think I am going through this because of the sin I committed in abusing, plus I the guilt is from lying to my wife. Will someone please make me feel better. I totally trust in God, but a date of feeling better would help. THANK YOU!!

I've been through the same thing with Tramadol. I was taking 13 + a day for months. It took 2 weeks of going to the pharmacy daily to get my daily dose( I couldn't have a full bottle and taper myself because I'd take it all) the anxiety is like nothing I have ever experienced, only being able to sleep for 10 minutes at a time for a week. My children saw me as well I couldn't stand to be around them yet I couldn't stand to be alone. Have you discussed this with your md? Possibly getting something short term for the anxiety and sleep would help. When the anxiety lifts and your brain returns to normal it feels like being reborn! Hang in there that stuff is evil and should be taken off the market!

And it takes about 2 weeks to feel normal again. The crying, feelings of worthlessness, feeling like a caged animal are magnified by the withdrawls. Just keep telling yourself " this is normal and I'm going to be ok" .as painful as it sounds get outside and walk or run it might help calm your nerves!

First, that is a very fast taper you are on and dangerous to come that fast from Tramadol. You need a better plan. the "zaps" you are getting could lead to seizure activity.

You will have to work with your doctor to get a taper schedule (we don't give them out here). Please listen to your doctor and follow the plan. If you follow his plan and all goes well, you should feel better in 5 to 7 days once you come off.

Stay here for support once you start this process and we can share some home remedies with you and many members can tell you about natural supplements that have helped them.

Thank you so much for the advice. The only reason I tapered so fast was because taking that much was dangerouse. I am taking Lexapro for the last couple of years or so, so that may be helping. I really didn't know what I was getting into I don't think my doc will let me taper, he is just saying that they are non narcotic and that I will have withdrawal. My first question is that if I stay at 6 for a while, when will I feel ok again. Also, will I feel this way through the whole taper. So, what you are saying is that after 5 to 7 I should feel better after I am completely off. Would you mind to tell me what each day is going to be like. Thank you so much. I should also add that my appetite has really come back.

Thanks for the advice. I did 6 yesterday. I took 2 this morning at 6:30 and I planned to quit altogether today, but at 3:00 p.m. I just couldn't take it anymore.  I took 2 and 30 minutes later a 10 minute nap. I am missing all day at work and probably next week. I am trying to fast?? I called my doc today, after he finally got my results from the emergency room yesterday, and he still has not called back. I think I will take 6 today. How long will it take if I stay on 6, until I feel normal again? I hate tramadol. I thought with me taking Lexapro, I would be ok but I am not. I pray and pray, and I know God hears me, but I don't know what to do?? I am begging you or anyone to tell me when this hell would be over. When I tried to quit today, I could not sit still and got up every 5 minutes to pee or shake.  Please help. Where is the light???

You are very  lucky you did not have seizures on that much while on lexpro the combo is known to cause seizures and something called serotonin syndrome .Do not up your AD until you are OFF the tramadol .After you are you might want to talk to the doctor about temporary going up a little to even you out . Tramadol works like an ssri antidepressant as well as a pain med so you have gone from tons of serotonin to hardly any. .Can your  wife hold your pills for you that helps alot.
