Thank you! Yes, since I've already lowered my levels so much quite the medication i used to take regulatory is too much, even after the procedure today. So, I will continue with the taper plan from the Dr as I was.. I am also working with a therapist to help with the process so figures crossed I can safety come of all of the medication and when I an ready to start a family will be healthy enough to do so. I think this entire experience, although and difficult has made me realize that i can do this, add before I thought there was no way out! Thank you so much for your support throughout :-)
Thanks for the update and so sorry for this unfortunate turn...
I hope you heal quickly and that you try again soon. Will you continue to taper off the meds just the same?
I wanted to thank all of you for your help and support and also give an update.
I went in for my first u/s (transvaginal) as scheduled for my first prenatal appointment art which time they could only see the gestational sac and thought it may just be to early to see anything else (I was on birth control when I conceived so it was hard to get an exact date) I went in again last week and they did another u/s (also transvaginal) which measured me at 6 weeks, again nothing else was seen aside from gestational sac, I waited for the confirmation from my doctor, and found out that I had a blighted ovum or missed miscarriage as he put it, the "baby" stopped developing at some point most likely due to chromosomal abnormalities and never developed any further past cell division, I ash how scheduled for a D&C tomorrow morning to remove the sac and any additional tissue.. Again thank you all for your help and also wanted to add that the doctor (@ 1st visit) advised a slow wein off the oxycodone and xanax, he said that they wouldn't cause birth defects but it was very important to taper off if I was continuing the pregnancy as I saw him so early into pregnancy that if I stopped or tapered now gongs would have continued fine.. However obviously at this point the pregnancy isn't viable and the medications had no effect on the miscarriage and it was nothing that could have been prevent even if I had been on no medication and as healthy as one could be, it was inevitable
You're so concerned that maybe you should make an earlier appt. It's not good to worry!
You can check but I think your level is normal for where you are in your pregnancy. Repeat it this Friday as the nurse suggested. You'll feel better after those results.
Also, I cant get into to see my doctor until next week :( Should I wait for the blood result from this next blood test and request an earlier appointment to discuss the medication with them?
Thank You! I have an appointment with my doctor, who does know of all medications I am on, so I am hoping she will be able to give me the best advice on what to do for my babys and my own health. Also, My blood test results came I today, I spoke with the nurse at my obgyn's and my hcg levels are only at 33! She said I most likely conceived the beginning of april so I am not too far along, however, she did ask if I have had any bleeding.. This really worried me! She requested that I go back towards the end of this week (Thurs or Fri) to get more blood work don't to check my levels. I am now wondering if the medication I was taking before I found out I was pregnant.. which I have been weaning down and only taking when absolutely needed(also is starting to make me sick when I try to take prescribed amount) Do you think that the meds I was on prior to and am on now could possibly be causing me to have a miscarriage or is a low hcg level normal??
I am so scared about the medication now finding this out I am even more worried!
I am not objective to termination of the pregnancy if the doctor thinks that the babys health is at risk, however, the thought of terminating my baby if I can have a health pregnancy horrifies me!
Hi..Congratulation on your pregnancy..I would like you to scroll down the page to"Tramadol or Vics and Pregnant" It has some great information in it I think you well find very interesting..OK Just go down or even it might be on the next page over by the time you see this..You can do it....
You have to see a physician immediately (not two weeks from now) for a withdrawal plan. You shouldn't quit cold turkey. There is also a problem with Xanax (Alprazolum). "Avoidance of Alprazolum (Xanax) during pregnancy and lactation would be prudent". Psychiatric Service Jan (53) 39-49. Good luck.
Hi there- No. Don't try to quit cold turkey, it IS dangerous. Your doctor needs to advise you...we just can't... Try to get in for an appt as soon as you can. In the meantime, speak with the nurse in the office, she can advise you.
Don't worry about this and don't take more meds than you need or are prescribed. Let us know how you're doing...
When pregnancy is a factor the best advice I can give is see you doctor. There are too many risks and factors involved since we're not just discussing YOUR detox and rehabilitation, we're also talking about your BABY'S. When your body goes through withdrawal so does your baby and the same applies to addiction. Call your doctor and tell him or her that its urgent that you see them ASAP to map out a plan that works best for both you and your baby. Keep us posted! Good luck!
