Taper help please?

by troubleinohio, Oct 19, 2007 02:48PM
ok, who is that does such great jobs making a taper recipe here? I have 45 Vics left. I used to use 8-10  a day.  Ran out about 10 days ago or so, used darvocet during that period but went off those a couple days ago too.  So went into full blown W/D until today when doctor gave me 45. (and xanax to help my panic attacks and WD symptoms) (if you didnt see my long, original post explaining it all, i posted today its titled "My Doctor and My Plan" ) if you need further info... THanks so much

I got a prescription for darvocet and was hoping that would help with vic w/d.  Do you think it helped you or did it just prolong the w/d?  Will it at least lessen them or do you regret doing it that way?

yes the darvocet did help alot. Whenever the horrid body aches came, the darvs took that pain away. I still craved the vics though, but the Darvs IMO just prolonged my eventual WD. I do regret it, but I dont at the same time. kwim? I was happy to have them to ease my pain, but its honestly just stupid because it prolongs the inevitable. Sooner or later gotta pay the piper.

Do you think going from vikes to darvs and then the w/ds were less than if you just went from vikes to nothing?

no I dont think it made a diffrence in the magnitude of w/d symptoms. It was a mental thing, and because Im an addict, i had access to the Darvs and used them til gone because thats what we do. But no it didnt make the transition any smoother. If youre considering trying that route, Id have to say its not worth it and to just go cold turkey off the Vics and safe yourself some time.

I have been trying online to find some info about withdrawing using darvocet but most of the stuff is taking me to darvocet recovory info.  I found a couple blogs where people suggest it, but also people saying that they got addicted or whatever.
