Tapering too fast??

Hi. I've been off Suboxone for 8 days now after tapering down some first. But, day 2 I started easing wd's with oxy & mostly 10mg hydros. I'm at 50mgs day total right now. Is tapering 10mgs/day too fast in anyone's opinion or experience? Any input is much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi & Welcome,

So you couldn't take the suboxone withdrawal and you used Oxy & Hydrocodone to help? WOW. I am sorry but I really don't understand what you are doing if your goal is to get clean. Taper or not, you will have withdrawal and what will you do? Go back on suboxone? Hun, you need to decide that you want to be clean and do it. Get through the withdrawal and get to the other side. As long as you have access to any of those drugs you are setting yourself up for failure. That is a shame. Decide what you want to do and we will support you through this. BTW, the reason I did not answer your question is that we cannot give tapering information here. It should be done under a doctor's care.

There are so many members here that have been where you are. I hope you stick around and listen to their responses.

HI,
I believe the last amt of suboxone I had was abt 1-1.5 mgs. I still haven't used any and don't plan to. I don't have any, or access to, and don't want to go back on it or back to a doctor.  In my experience the wd's from pain pills has been worse, but you're absolutely right that eventually I'm going to have to just go through it. Thanks again.

Hi, thanks for your response. I Agree and you have an excellent point. In my experience the we from suboxone has been worse for me than from pain meds. But, even so, you are right and I need to decide I want to do it and stick with it. I guess I thought I could minimize my wd's, but yes I will have to eventually fully and finally get thru it. Thanks for offering help and support. I've tapered down my use of opiates each day this last week, and right now my plan is to take only 10-20mgs tomorrow and then ideally none the next day. I will no longer have any after that and will just have to suck it up for a few days.
I know it's hard for everyone that does it,  my prob individually is that I have 3 kids, 2 of which are on the Autism Spectrum, and 2 are toddlers :p lol I will have help on the weekend to be 'sick', but until then not sure what to do when I still have to function.
Thank you both for your responses, I really appreciate it.

Hey....i want you to know I HEAR YA sub w/d ***** ***!!!! I did it and i can totally hear your pain! What mg of sub were you on when u jumped and how fast did u taper the subs? I have to agree with IBKleen above....you cant treat w/d pain with more drugs! You WILL have to go THROUGH w/d in order to do this....not under them, over them or around them. My first suggestion would be to flush what you have left opiate based!!! (And any other drug for that fact), find the Thomas Recipe on this website for the vitamin/mineral list u need. Stay away from the benzo's b/c sub w/d takes longer than 3/4 days. I find they make you lathargic.
Its not a tapering question u need to ask....its a why am i treating drug w/d with more drugs?
Why did u decide to end the subs if i may ask....and i ran out is a totally acceptable answer....we dont all get here b/c we WANT to......
