Temptation to get subs

Im about to go to the walgreens where my subs our to get my mother a b-day card. Please send me words to help my thought process.

How about this:  Go to a different store for the birthday card and take a different route. Don't set yourself up like that...

Thanks right after I wrote that question I said well Im sure I can find a card at publex I guess I just like the selection at walgreens but that selection isnt worth my sobriety. 17 days clean. In a couple months those pills will default at the pharm. I was guna tell them to cancel the script if thats possible. The pharm is a block from my house. So Ive been doing good not to fill them.

I think that's a great idea to ask them to cancel the script - and if they need the Dr. to cancel it, then do it that way.  Don't let the temptation of the script sitting there eat away at you because I know, from personal experience, that you might end up filling it during a weak moment.  And congrats on the 17 days that's so great!! :)

Thanks for the encouragement. yeah thats my goal this week to cancel that script. Yeah every day that script is on my mind I need to do it sooner than later.

Yes,you can ask them to cancel it and they will. You're thinking and that's important.

Yeah, I know that feeling and it's awful.  Better to just remove all access to them and that way it won't be on your mind.  And I'm proud of you for not filling it yet so that is great!  And you know, it will actually feel good to cancel it because YOU'RE doing it, and that feeling is SO empowering and makes you feel really good about yourself.

Just a second...you don't have to go in person. They close at 6pm on Sunday( but there's usually one that stays open 24 hours. And I know this how?? )

You could just call and leave a message for the pharmacist tonight. So,do that and then let everyone know that you did!  You'll feel good!

Great - and even if they don't allow you to cancel it, just call the Dr. and they will do it for you.  I found that when I thought I had cancelled a script, it turned out they couldn't take it out of the system without the Dr.'s involvement and it sat at the pharmacy for sometime after I thought that my cancelling it alone was enough and then I discovered it was still there (I still take bp meds from the same pharmacy so that's how I found out).  But maybe that was just my pharmacy, or maybe it was just an error on the pharmacy technician's part, so I'm not sure exactly how that works overall.

Either way, it will be your decision and you'll feel great about that you'll see!  Good luck to you - I'll be sending good thoughts your way!  :)

Yeah thanks I just went by there but closed your right they close early sunday. I went to publix to get my mother flowers and a card so now Im broke. Ive been out of work for a month now which is a blessing cause no temptation to get anything. If I really wanted to put the effort in I could pawn some stuff but my mind set lately wants all my electronics to keep me sane in sobriety. ha ha

I know, being broke is awful.  But blessings come in all kinds of disguises don't they?  Just try again tomorrow as far as the script is concerned.  Good luck to you (and happy b-day to your Mom!  I think you spent the last few dollars VERY well!)  :)

Thanks Ive been praying for work and out of the blue my neighbor wants almost her whole inside house painted in a couple weeks. a little nerve racking cause Im just gettin sober, by then I should have a even better mindset to get the job done.

That's great!  You'll be able to do it you'll see.  Actually, I think you'll do the job better with a clear head.  I thought I did everything better on pills.  I was SO wrong!  And it was a nice surprise to find that out (just one of the many "gifts" you receive for quitting).  :)
