ADDICTION: SUBSTANCE ABUSE COMMUNITY
The Book

The Book

Okay, I'm 1/2 way through.  It gives a set of test questions.  Based on your yes or no answers you assign points.  Your point level determines which amino acids and nutrients you are deficient in if any.  Cocaine and amphetamine use are different then xanax/valium or opiate use.
He suggest and I love this that substance abuse of any kind is not disease but a result of mineral and amino acid defiencies in our brain chemistry and a build up in toxins in our bodies.  So, I took the test and I am gaba (anxiety) and endorphin/enkephalin deficient (opiate).  There are a ton of things to take.  But they are all natural.  Then he suggests that 2 days to 1 week after you start the minerals and supps you begin the detox.  He suggests that everyone do this whether you have substance use issues or not.  He does say that you should be able to taper your use of preferred substance for those of you doing this while going through the QS and Detox.  The w/d will be minimized or not as noticeable.  He says if you have quit in the past and survived you should be okay.  If you needed medical intervention before then you should seek medical advice before starting his program and there are some supps that you cannot take if you have cirrohsis or liver damage and some for kidney issues.

He suggests that some bloating and gas will occur during the quick start and detox.  If this occurs he says to back off the dosages a bit until you are comfortable.  The usual disclaimer don't start this until you talk to a doctor.  He says that you may find that you need to do the whole regime for 3 months and then begin to taper the quick start to 1-2 a week and then detox for a while and then taper it all down to 1 a week depending on how you feel.  If you feel a stressful time coming on or you have been exposed to heavy toxinx or begin cravings again to begin the minerals and supps again at beginning levels to head things off at the pass.  This to me means that most of us that suffer from chronic pain would now be able to take our pain meds as prescribed or because we r boosting our bodies ability to fight pain we could actually reduce the amount we take and save them for really bad days.
Primary risk factors for substance abuse (alcohol, opiates, smokes or benzos) are poor nutrition, exposure to toxins, stress and genetic predispostion to mineral and supp deficencies.

Direct quote
"Imbalances can be created by all the risk factors I've listd.  That's why it's very important that you  make a few lifestyle changes that will help you maintain your biochemical balance adn the good health that goes along with it as you work to eliminate the need for psychotropic substances from your life.  I hpe it's clear that I'm not rying to reduce the differences among human beings to biochemistry.  I certainly don't mean to imply that soehow, if all people were able to restore their bodies to a condition of healthy biochemical balance, everyone would feel and think and act the smae as everyone else.  In fact, I'm saying exactly the opposite.  The only way in which we can truly realize our individuality is by restoring the balance that enables each one of us to be themselves. Psychotropic substances actually prevent us from true seflf-expression and self-realization by disrupting the brain chemistry that is one of the important clements of our own unique intellectual, emotional, and spiritual character"

This seems related to anxiety.  Understand this is my take.  I think everyone on the forum should own the book. People who take valium, xanax, blood sugar swings.

L-Glutamine - up to 3500mg 3x aday 1 hour before break, dinner and bed. If you have gas or bloating take with food.  Available in tablet or powder (cheaper).  You should talk to doctor if you have liver issues.

L-Taurine - up to 1000mg with each dose of glutamine.  This is a relaxing amino.

B-Complex Vitamin capsule - 1 capsule with each dose of glutamine.  B6 is required for gaba production.  You should take enough b vitamin caps to get 50 - 100mg of b6 with each does of glutamine.  The may make your urine bright yellow, natural and okay.

Multimineral Supps - Make sure it contains the following and take enough tablets each day to roughly equal:
calcium - 1000mg
magnesium - 300mg
potassium - 100mg
iron- 20 mg
zinc- 20 mg
manganese - 6 mg
copper - 1 mg
chromium - 400mcg
selenium - 60 mcg
molybdenum - 50 mcg
Note if you are receiving dialysis treatments or have sever kidney disease, you should consult your doctor before taking mineral supps.

My take on this is opiate, heroine, methadone use.

DL-Phenylalanine (DLPA) up to 2000mg 3x a day 1 hour before meals.
Note if you are taking antidepressant meds, you should consult your doctor before taking phenylalanine

L-Leucine - up to 500mg 3x a day 1 hour before meals.

L- Methionine - up to 500 mg 3x a day 1 hour before meals.

L-Glutamine- 2000mg with each does of DLPA.  You will not need to take this if you are already taking it for GABA deficiency.

B-Complex Vitamin - 1 capsule each time you take DLPA. Again if you are on GABA you do not need to add more b vitamin

Multimineral Supps - Make sure it contains the following and take enough tablets each day to roughly equal:
calcium - 1000mg
magnesium - 300mg
potassium - 100mg
iron- 20 mg
zinc- 20 mg
manganese - 6 mg
copper - 1 mg
chromium - 400mcg
selenium - 60 mcg
molybdenum - 50 mcg
Note if you are receiving dialysis treatments or have sever kidney disease, you should consult your doctor before taking mineral supps.

WOW, TN...Thanks for copying all that down to share with the rest of us.
The info on endorphin deficiency was great. Thats what I am currently going through. I am already on everything you described except, the DLPA stuff (did I get that right?) So, again, Thank you for taking the time to share all that with all of us. It is much appreciated.
