The Joy Of Shrinks

I know this isnt really a question...i just thought id share this with you all....ive been suffering with bipolar and DHC addiction for over seven years..ive seen 3 shrinks in this time.. (1 of which was taken away in handcuffs for prescribing diamorphine..he was even put in prison!!!! A Dr Arif Alam)...the last shrink ive been to see was really good..a Dr.Hendricks..he explained that he had met many people who had self prescribed for there bipolar and that there were such things as a Dual Diagnosis...i feel like a bit of a weight has been taken off my shoulders..now all i need is to get the propper medication for my Bipolar and try harder with my taper off the DHC..im due to see another shrink in the next few weeks.ill let you all know what happens.

Welcome to the forum.. I was very sorry to read of your experience with the shrink who was taken away with handcuffs.. But very proud you kept looking for one that will help you to feel comfortable... I was lucky enough to meet a gentle and patient phyc that gave me great food for thought and much encouragement when progress was made.. I'm also very pleased you will be getting off a bad med and searching for ones that help to stabilize your moods.. ones with no ill effects.. keep us posted as to how you are doing as many would benefit from your trials and success..
