The affects of Robotussin?

Lately my friends and I have been drinking a 4oz bottle of Robotussin CF as a cheap way of "tripping."  What does this do to the human body and how could this adversely affect me?

the back of my head near the neck is really sore/tingly after doing tussin', i think it affects long/short term memory and also while on it it interferes with heart beats/physical body controls.  the most i've done is 6oz, so...

all those ecstacy emergency room visits 9 times out of 10 turn out to be that "tripping" drug in Robo, not MDMA. It's dangerous (inhibits sweating, causing your body to overheat) and a shitty trip, so why bother?

I have a friend addicted to robotussin for 10 years.  He has ODed and nearly died.  I had a hard time trying to get him help.  In the end I joined him.  We used to drink 2 family size bottles a day.  I had some bad trips, but mostly I was just "some place else".  After 3 months of this I got arrested for shoplifting, (that is how we obtained our drug).  I quit using, have only used Robotussin twice in the last 7 years. BUT... I was an active alcoholic for 6 years.  The past 4 years I have been nothing but a lowly heroin junkie.  As of today I am 14 days claen.  I just hope I can stay that way.
  The last time I heard of my friend Robo he was an alcoholic.  Maybe he is using heroin now too.  If anyone knows Robo (C.A.Howard) of Orlando/Kissimmee FL, or in New Orleans, LA where I left him, please e-mail me at ***@****.

Hey, If you use Robotussin to trip, then check out this site!  http://www.frognet.net/dxm/    
especially section 11.  It tells you how to extract the dextromethorphan hydrobromide (dxm).  In this purer form you are not as likely to puke.  Sometimes you can just puke trying to swallow all of the contents in a family sized bottle of Robotussin!! Good luck & be safe.

im addicted to robo and trying to find help..... up to 12 oz a day or more... rehabs wont help... 34 yrs old and dont know what to do..... been drinking robo for 15 yrs..... please help me .    ***@****

I am sorry I have dont have any first hand exp with this. But are you physc addicted? what happens if you stop taking it. how long can you go. I saw something on a tv show not long about i but i changed the chanels it was on that show intervention.

I am curious as to where you got the statistic that "9 times out of 10" ER visits that were suspected Ecstacy overdoses were in actuality from Robitussin.

The reason I ask this is because 1 out of every 4 statistics are made up on the spot.

does the robotussin have to have alcohol in it to **** you up, i know it has dextromethorphan or whatever in it but the bottle says alcohol free on it
