The many ways pills destroy lives

This past week I stopped doing oxys and have been taking vicodin as needed to curb my w/ds, and plan to fully quit in a few days when I run out of the vics I have (which are lasting so much longer than I ever thought they would)..I know that until I stop using opiates all together I am really not accomplishing anything, but I haven't had that "high" feeling at all this entire week, so I have actually been learning how to go through life without being high as a kite. Anyway I have been working on being a better person this week and have noticed incredibly results. I have had a gf for 3 years..most of our relationship has been something out of a fairy tale, however the past few months when my addiction got really bad, my moods were so up and down based on whether or not I had pills. We just got into a huge fight about the way I acted during the summer, she has no idea I have ever even touched a pill and my goal is to honestly get them out of my life without her knowing because this is just not who I really am. We are doing long distance right now as she finishes her last year of school cuz i am a year older and graduated last year. Anyway we had a fight tonight that could possibly end in me losing her. Its so ironic that as I am changing my life for the better, my previous actions on the pills may have quite possibly caused me to lose the only thing in this world that i care about more than pills. If you guys could just pray for me I would really appreciate it..I have the right mindset to help me quit, but she is my motivation to quit, and if we break up in the next few days I might honestly be in big trouble mentally...

Hey, my name is Sonya. I am an addict. Opiates were my drug. i have been clean over 2 months. I went to treatment 20 days. That was the best 20 days i ever spent. I hope you think about going to treatment. Remember this "anything you put before your sobriety you will lose". I thinl I would tell her the truth if she cares she will stick with you. Getting through w/d's is hard (the 7th day was my worst) you will need someone you can talk to. you will need all your strength during this time. Please do it. You know now there is a way to the other side.

Do this for you.  Get yourself clean and on the road to wellness.  When you do that the rest of the things will fall into place.  Talk with your gf.  Having support of a loved one is so helpful with this addiction.  I know it is hard to tell someone our secret but it really does lighten the load.  Keep posting and flush those vics....sara

if you feel that you are going to lose her, why not be honest with her and tell her youve been on the pills and that you are getting clean now. Maybe she would realize it was the pills causing you to act the way you did and decide to stick by you? Not sure what your fight was about but maybe honesty can save your relationship now...good luck to you and keep us posted

Give yourself and your gf the best gift you can right now and that would be to put an end to these pills once and for all and look into some type of aftercare to help you STAY clean.

What would she do if you told her about your addiction? I say flush those pills and get the ball rolling, but I know that is easy for me to say, not so easy to do. I wish you the best bud, life is so much better clean and sober. Be strong:)
