The sweats

The sweats

SO, I started W/D's last Friday and wrapped up the intense part on Wednesday.  Any idea when these night time sweats will end?  I never sweat at night before this ordeal?!  I'm not soaking through towels, but I'm still quite damp when I wake....

For me, the night sweats lasted for a month, after the initial 8 days of w/d.  Everyone is different, so yours may not last that long.  I know it's an annoying and uncomfortable way to wake up, but it does go away.  Keeping your bedroom cool, (not cold) helps a little.  Others here will also offer their experience. Hang in there & congrats on getting clean :)

when i quit, i had major night sweats for 2 weeks, soaking wet, but i know we are not using the same drug, so it may be different for you totally. i hated them, but thankfully they didn't last that long.

They suck!  Friday night I had minimal sweats so I thought I was in the clear, then last night I was wet again!  Phoooey.  But in the heat of the W/D's soaking through towels and sheets was standard....ishy.

are you having nightmares at all that you can remember? when i had them, those were the nights i was drenched the most, it was gross. sweating is good for you though, it is releasing a lot of those bad chemicals

I can't remember last nights dreams.  My dreams haven't been tooo bad.  They have been uncomfortable dreams, but not nightmarish.  One was of an aquaintance who I know gets a good supply of pills (who I never even got any from before) was getting a prescription filled at my clinic and I was crying and freaking out to try and run away from him!-good sign I think?  Want to stay away?  But no nightmares to speak of....

crying and running away in your dream is a great sign. i had those type too, i still have them every now and then. when your subconcious mind is turning down drugs when you are sleeping, that is a great great sign. i am glad to hear you had this type of dream, it is very positive. keep on doing what you are, your doing great and the sweating is very normal.

Thanks Gizzy....that's good to hear.  I thought it was odd that this man who never hooked me up played such a key roll in a dream.  But it probably wasn't him being to so key, it was the pills.  THE EFFIN PILLS....uuuugh.  Have a nice day-I'm off to the mall....Finally getting out into the world again after my life changing ordeal with W/D's.... l8r.  Thanks for the help and positive words!

I'm interested in your post.  Before my college years were stolen by lupus, i never really remembered any dreams, but i would remember the bad ones once every month or so.  As soon as i was started on pain meds, I have had not bad dreams, but NIGHTMARES every night.  running, dodging, inescapable, near death, getting shot, you name it.  It's been that way for three long hard years.  i am almost three weeks clean, i can still remember every dream, but they are not NEARLY as horrifying.  Did you get that information from a book or text?  I've wanted to pick up a book on dreams for a while.  Thanks!

well congrats on three weeks clean, you should start feeling some changes in yourself now. i had those getting shot dreams too, but i wouldn't go down, i just kept getting hit with bullets. i looked up the meaning of those dreams in  a book, but it was my friends and i no longer have it. there is a site that has dream meanings, but i don't know how accurate it is, i still check them out though. try googling   "dream dictionary" that is where i look sometimes.
