ADDICTION: SUBSTANCE ABUSE COMMUNITY
Therapy

Therapy

I've started therapy, my doctor offered me valuim to help with sleep since i do have a little one sleep is good. I only take 1/2 of a 5mg at bedtime for the last 3days and it's really been helpful. But what's helping more than anything (I'm 8days off vicodin sorta tapered sorta c/t long story don't want to explain)actually talking face to face to someone, telling them everything and really getting into why I have an addiction, and why I'm an addict. Yes I know the valuim is also a drug however I feel I'm doing pretty good since I only take 1/2 a tab a day and just at bedtime. I'm more determined to stay clean than ever before. I wish I would have done therapy a long time ago, but just another lesson learned I guess. I cut all my "friends" off (the ones with access to pills) and between my child, my therapy, eatting, sleep, and light exercise thats my day... I'm praying for the will to stick to this and I'm praying for all of you. I'm trying to not log on as much because I find sometimes its makes me crave the pills but I will check in here and there. See ya

Congratulations on your progress.   You have certainly done all the right things...including sticking with the Forum folks.

When I was where you are with C/T I began to feel the good effects of being free of pills.  Even though sleep and fatigue were issues, I began waking up looking forward to the day and what I could accomplish.   Then, I realized I was on my way to physical and mental wellness.

What I then did was to begin making a list of all the positives that were coming from being clean and sober.   The list grows every day, and I put a star next to benefits that are most important to me.

The process is slow, but then "Nothing good happens fast in life."  And, quitting is a BIG good.   Hang in there and keep going.
