These are the days I most want to pop a pill

There are four days a year I really want to take a pill ,this is my sons day at the children's hospital for CT scans and tests to make sure we are still cancer free ....... I know I can do it but theses days are rough .

I cannot begin to imagine how hard this must be for the family. This is your baby. I have chills just sitting here.

But the pills won't do it, and I know you know that. You have to be strong for him, and yourself. This is a test.

I'll be thinking of you. I can understand how you feel. My daughter(4yr. old) has a rare disease, has already had 2 major surgeries and tons of medical things going on. CT days are the worst!

I had a long and fantastic letter written - but it got lost in the ether. Avis - I lost my first borne son to kidney failure at birth. The hospital trained my wife and I in dialysis and we actually got the sun home for 6 months before we lost him. We knew the score from birth (Prognosis: Bleak - Therapy: Currently Unsatisfactory - Treatment: Non-specific, but supportive. Its crazy how I can still recite that from the Merck Manuel after all these years. It was 25 years ago. We now have two sons that I love dearly and have had a good life with them. I admire your efforts for your child - and you all will be in my prayers forever. And I will be praying especially hard for clean screens forever!!! My best of luck and love to you and your family...you are special people.
