I am making myself work out. I know it sounds impossible to those with bad WD's and to be honest I dont know if mine are bad aver or easy. Been through this 4x in 4 years and no matter the length i took them daily they all been the same feeling. I never took more than 40mg a day though and still got my euphoria from 5mg pill never took a 10 or I would look at like I am wasting money. Anyways what is working for me is a mulit vita, amino acids from GNC, protein shakes, excersize and benadryl. Now it does not make me feel good but I believe it does help. I like to make myself sweat also cuz it feels like your releasing on the bad stuff. Even though your not. Also a good soke in hot water for aches helps.
I have gone through really bad w/ds in the past. Every minute going through withdrawals i want SOMETHING!!!! if anybody has a better idea, would they care to share
I have also been curious about this as well for the same reason as "mercedes'. Didn't a lot of us try other methods to relieve our symptoms before ending up w/rx drugs?
(I have not yet been able to try the "l-theanine" I have read about, but am hopeful it does wind up helping w/my anxiety issue, because nothing short of klonopin, xanax or ativan, valium, etc., etc. have ever worked for me. Not buspar, vistaril, valerian root, calms forte. And the anxiety issue is the worst part of the w/d process for me).
Thomas recipie is amazing(6 days clean). Yes, valium/xanax are addiciting but if only used for those 3 first days, you should be fine. My doc wrote me a script for five days. That **** makes you so tired, I don't know how you could get hooked on it. Thats the key though, is sleeping through the first couple days. I did add clonidine to the mix to cut down on RLS and sweats. I've detoxed three times before cold turkey and it *****....Detox is miserable anyway you cut it, but the Mr. Thomas has provided us with a little relief!!! I think the vitamins are a must. Previous detoxes have my brain boggled, but the vitamis are defineately helping me keep somewhat focused. Long road ahead but things are lookin up>>>>
Mercedes, I've detoxed more than once. The successful detox was with the use of the Thomas Recipe.
I think it's okay to get relief w/a little xanix as long as you don't allow yourself to develop a new addiction. I alternated my sleep meds w/xanix, ambien, tylenol pm & temazapam.
I only took bites of xanix during the day for anxiety relief.
As for the low energy, I don't feel the Ltyrosine helped that much.
Something that wasn't on the recipe that I used was adderall. This isn't something our members would like to advise because it's the devil, however I used 3 of those pills in small bite size pieces to help me w/focus during the first week. It really did help too. I can say that because I've detoxed before without.
In a nutshell, nothing makes detox pleasant, but each individual has to decide to either be 100% misserable, or 80% misserable. Either way, it's not a picnic.
When you have responsibility and no time off to just be a hermit, Mr. Thomas can aid a little.
Best Wishes.
me either natte. I remember coming off soma and lorcet/norco a couple years back-i had xanax which i had kept for some time because i wouldnt take them to get high, just when i couldnt sleep. day 2 of no opiate was miserable for me/i think i ended up taking about 6 somas within a 10 hr period and 2 bar xanax and still i was wide awake for 3 days. it was like the old meth days for me. your body is going thru such a change those first few days, just have to remember you may not sleep at all for a few days. s++++i know...
I agree with Veyda about the benzo part. Vitamins is one thing but Valium can be very addicting as I have a family member who is addicted to them. Yes I took one here and there to help sleep but luckily I dont need them. First few days NOTHING helped me sleep, anyway.
my own personal experience with vitamins and herb supplements (not knocking getting this stuff from food, because I eat lots of fresh veggies) but I have been taking a multi vitamin for years along with extra Vit E, C. D and calcium which I do religiously. Back in August me and my boyfriend went to see family in Alabama and I left my vitamins behind by mistake. Well, I tell you I sure did feel different, more lethargic and my chest was hurting, and my chest had never felt that way...maybe it was that or something else I don't know, but I won't forget that ever again. I have been taking stresstabs, and b6 only, I could not find the tyrosine (live in a real small town) and its day 3 for me off lorcet, and I feel pretty good, but I've read and heard many times that day 3 is the good one :) Just my experience..
I did not try and use it. I just sucked it up and drove on - not looking back. It was the 6th day for me to start my way back up. I can see though how the added sups would help the body cope with what it's going through. For me it was just a matter of time getting it and regimenting myself to take it.
