Tizanidine

I was prescribed a new medication to help with my muscle tightness and soreness called tizanidine. It helps me to fall asleep really easily but I wake up in the middle of the night, wide awake, and can't go back to sleep unless I have another 1/4-1/2 a pill. I want to know if anyone has any bad reactions to this medication or any advise? I also take 3 norco a day.

Hi.
I also take Tizanidine, it also helps me sleep. I do the same thing I wake up in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep. But, I love my Tizanidine it really truly does help my muscles and my aches. So I'll continue to take my Tizanidine.
Good luck. Sending you positive vibes.

It's all addictive, because it's government man-made synthetics.

Now flexeral it's a different story. Wonderful muscle relaxer.  I'm a how health care provider as well ans everyone I've ever known to take flexeral say it's more important than their pain pills I've never seen anyone have any bad reactions to it.  It's a wonderful muscle relaxer. You should probably get help coming off I'd this crazy pill that will probably be recalled before long and switch to flexeral

Flexeril makes me feel high and it's not a good high. More like Dopey. Tizadine at first was okay, but as soon as I acknowledged the beginning of the name brand starting with Zana, that told me it was part of the other Highly Addictive behavior modification drugs as Zanex, which is highly addictive. It's just my opinion, but everything that's newly made since the 80's is mainly addictive and more so since the 90's and worse the 00's and they are doing it purposely now.

Pot, marijuana, Mary Jane, whatever you want to call it was not addictive until Monsanto and the Government got its hands on it and now it is addictive. Instead of allowing government control of this new made crsoe, they should have allowing individuals plant for personal use only. If caught selling it then it could be a crime. We should be able to plant whatever we want on our property. They restrict poppies, yet dandelions, and figs have the same alkaloids. Enough is enough with restrictions and regulations, especially when they make something that use to relax me into something that is now addictive for their own profit. No one should fight for government handouts of this crap they've made. We should be fighting for our own property rights. Period! The opium law is being abused right now, because it's not OPIOIDS we are fighting it's SYNTHETICS, allowed by the government. JMO from research and my personal addiction from doctors injecting me every 4 hours, whether I was in pain or not and discharging me without anything to take without reducing Darvon in 1975.

Next came Darvacet then Percocet. You can't tell me they don't know exactly what they are doing while they use taxpayers money in stock for the crap and stock in insurance and stock in rehabilitation as well.

Fight for what we should be able to grow on our property! Otherwise turmeric will be made illegal until they make it addictive. Wake up people!

And yes it is a bad thing to use them as a sleep aide. I've read about that also.  That is the first sign that your on your way to abuse if the medication.  Maybe it effects different people different or maybe they are not recognizing the problem as a problem idk but if your waking I  the middle of the night ans having to take now to go to sleep than your developing a dependency and abuse of this pill is very dangerous. That's exactly how my mom's started.  I don't know how long ago your ***** was or how much worse it had gotten but you should probably seek medical help.  I read that once you'v stated abusing it (taking more than prescribed) it can be life threatening to come off I'd it on your own at the least out will cause severe insomnia.  SEEK PROFESSIONAL HELP IMMEDIATELY IF YOU ARE TAKING MORE THAN PRESCRIBED OR EXPERIENCING INABILITY TO SLEEP WITHOUT IT USING AS A SLEEP AIDE OR EXPERIENCING HALLUCINATIONS AUDIO OR VISUAL IMMEDIATELY I DON'T CARE WHAT AMY ONE ELSE SAYS.  BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY AND I'VE WITNESSED THIS PERSONALLY

I have been taking Tizandine for many years and they are highly addictive.  Be very careful using them.  I have gone through withdrawels from hell and think I almost died trying to get off them.  I suffered a small stroke during the time I tried to stop taking them.  I can't even slowly lower the dosage without having the withdrawel symptoms.  I wish I never started them and would have never if I knew they were addictive.

Please be careful.

and no..That is absolutely NOT a bad thing..You are human, it is natural to want to feel good..Please don't hate yourself for it..My mother takes Flexiril and that really helps her..It eases you into sleep and you sleep all night. It is also a muscle relaxer and not so 'hardcore' Or maybe try Skelaxin?

I use to take zanaflex a lot back in 2003 and the same thing would happen..It would pull me so far into sleep..At first I would sleep blissfully all night..Then as my body was getting more and more use to it, I would only sleep for a few hours then my eyes would pop open and I wouldnt be able to go back to sleep for a long time! I'm sorry to say but with my experiance, it only got worse the longer I took it..The sleep lasts shorter and shorter and you have to take more and more..I just stopped taking them because by that point I was getting better sleep without them! I don't take muscle relaxers anymore though and havent since then..Believe it or not, I'm a huge lightweight for that stuff lol!

I would ask the doc for something different..I truly believe it will only get worse. Good luck!

I am using it as a sleep aid as well because it puts me right to sleep and I don't think about my pain. Is that a bad thing??

Hi.
I personally don't think it's a bad thing. My attitude at times is Whatever Gets You Through the night or the day. Good luck.

Princessey, are you taking any other medications with it? I take 3 norcos a day usually and I feel like they don't even do anything for my pain now that I have the Zanaflex, which is actually a good thing because I would like to stop taking them. Also, has your doctor told you about any long term side effects? Will you have to taper down if you ever stop using them? THank you.

I have taken Zanaflex for 4 or so years and LOVE it. If I don't take one before bed I can barely move my head the next day. I have never had any side effects---other than drowsiness for a few months. Try them for a couple weeks, they should offer you some relief.
