you can taper with tramadol but do it slowly and before you start be sure you have enough pills to get you thru the taper process.... the best way to taper is to start with a set amount of pills each day and start tapering 1/2 pill every 3 days..i had a schedule that went something like this

day one 5 pills
day two 5 pills
day three 5 pills
day four 4.5 pills
day six 4.5
day secen 4.5 pills
day eight 4 pills

and keep going droping 1/2 pill every 3 days untill you are done. this worked for me with tramadol but i dont know if it works with oxy or hydro..
hope this all didnt sound silly just trying to help because i know how hard it is to get off pain pills and every little bit of info always helps

GOOD FOR YOU.... you should be very proud of yourself for having the self-control to stick with a tapering plan. like i stated in other posts i've been really busy with my girls and havent had much time to read all the posts. I personally have never been addicted to Tramadol, for me its hydrocodone. i for one never had the will-power to taper my pills. it was to easy to take just "an extra" here and there. i assume tramadol must be the same though, because "w/d's are w/d's" despite what the medication.

My suggestion to anyone planning on tapering, is to take a good, honest look at yourself and know before hand if you have the "self-control" to taper. because failure only leads to abusing your pills even more (i know this one first hand) i had my sister hold my pills for me this last time and it worked better then anything else i've done. She wouldnt budge, no matter how much i cried. i'm here to help anyone who needs it, just let me know....

and remember... to those just starting this battle, you have to  take "baby steps" and you'll get there, PROMISE!!!!

Jeff, I think I love you. I've been trying to find a tapering schedule for Tramadol and here it is! I know I may have to modify a bit (I'm at 9 pills per pop now so I'm going to start at 7) and we're all different but at least you hgave me the frame of reference I have been looking for. Thank you! You are an angel!
