To Flush or Not to Flush

To Flush or Not to Flush

Okay .. on day 10 of no Oxycontin ... I know that I will NEVER go back on that drug again as I never want to experience these feelings again.   So, why cant I get myself to flush my Oxy supply down the toilet?

Well you know we are all gonna say to flush... can you have someone do it for ya??? If you can't bring yourself to.. I know its hard to do... but you can do it.. and the feeling afterward will be rewarding..

Please honey, go ahead and flush em. I am on day 67, beating a three year 1000mg a day, Oxy COntin habit. It was torture and swore I would never take them ever again. I stumbled across one and flushed it immediately, after about three weeks into my quitting. About one month ago, I was feeling back to normal. Had no w/d at all, had energy, was happy. And seemingly forgot about my previous nightmare that lasted almost 1 month...so I called my dealer thinking I was no longer addicted and that I could take a quarter of an 80. After being addicted to about 12-14 80's a day, I knew my tolerance had dropped significantly. Well, I called him and got the 80 and cut it into 4 peices, and took a quarter. I was in deed correct about my tolerance, but also could feel the demon that had been lying dormant, start to be reborn. I knew I had to flush the rest, and I did. So, my point, is this....if you keep them within reach, after you are clean and w/d is just a memory...you will feel normal and the desire will be present....no matter what....Good Luck and I hope all is well with you...

xoxo, Lisa

Thank you so much for your support.  I flushed them away this afternoon.  I think having them around and not taking them was making me feel that I am strong and can beat this thing but just the last few days I have been thinking that maybe taking a 1/4 of one might make me feel better now that I am over the real bad w/d and just dealing with feeling like **** in the afternoons and evenings.  So I guess I would probably have broken down at some point, thinking I was over it and could take a small amount (right!!!).  I'm glad they're gone.

Thanks again Lisa - it is great to know that at some point your energy and happiness did return.  Stay clean and enjoy life -- it really is a gift.
