Hi MisTake!  I was getting a little worried about you because I didn't see you posting for a while there!  I was hoping you were okay!  Hey, I didn't know you were addicted to Oxycontin.  If that's the case can I ask you something?  This is going to sound stupid but is Oxycontin better to take than Oxycodone?  What is the difference between the two?  My doctor told me Oxycontin is better to take but yet he prescribes me Oxycodone.  I do have legitimate pain now!!!  I had a CT done a couple of weeks ago and it did show I have a slipped disc in my low back, it's way down there and it hurts like hell!  That figures I'd have real pain now after all the scamming I did to get my Oxy's!  I think I jinxed myself!  Please let me know how you're doing!  Hopefully we'll talk later!

Hey girl...Im very glad to hear from you.  I havent been around for the last few weeks due to some issues that have come up in mine and hubby's lives that have been nothing short of a "*****" to deal with.  I am learning that recovery - though the most WORTH IT thing in the world is not always the easiest and sometimes is QUITE HARD!!!  I sometimes hate those life lessons, hu??lol  Anyway - we are getting through,,,,,,one day at a time and one issue at a time so thank u for asking and your concern.  It makes me feel good to look here and see someone need me for "whatever" reason.  I hope u saw the posts I wrote to you back a while ago.  Im really not so great about going back and checking after like 3 days.  If it is too difficult to find - ADHD = time to move on...lol    However, there are a few so if you have an easier time - check - but if not - I honestly could not even tel u what they say....lol   That addict memory - whew....  So, I guess one thing for when u stop these things (once the pain in under control) is to handle each issue that comes up quickly and as thoroughly as possible the first time.  That is a few things I am trying to grasp now.

OK  - so as far as your pain goes - GIRL, I am so sorry.  That is really such a bad thing to go through.  Prior to my surgeries - I would have done just about anything to end that pain so I completely understand the need for pain meds for legit pain.  But please please please remember........just dont let them take control of you.  I know you know, or have read, just how easy those lil buggers are able to do that.  Once they have the control and you don't - so much is lost so fast (and that is aside from the material).  Just keep a firm head about it and you will be fine.  Hopefully you and your doc will come up with a plan that will have you pain free w/ no pills sometime soon.  From my experience - it rocks (though I would have never believed it at the time).  Whatever you need from me, though, please ask.  I really want to be helpful anyway that I can.  AND though I am not around here as much - I do try and at least read a bit every other night so that I can keep up on all my friends lives.  Just keep me in the loop and let me know...

OK SORRY FOR THE RAMBLING - BUT YOU KNOW HOW I AM!!! LOL   ESP WHEN IM SO TIRED.......ANYWAY - OXYCODONE AND OXYCONTIN ARE THE SAME MEDICATION.  THE DIFFERENCE IS THAT OXYCONTIN IS A LONG LASTING OR EXTENDED RELEASE MED AND IS STRONGER B/C OF THAT.  SO FOR EX. IF YOU HAD A 30 MG OXYCODONE AND A 30 MG OXYCONTIN - THE MEDS ARE THE SAME BUT THE FIRST IS IMMEDIATE RELEASE (ALL MED IN YOUR SYSTEM QUICKLY*) AND THE LATTER IS EXTENDED (MEANING THE MEDS ARE RELEASED SLOWLY OVER A "12" HOUR PERIOD.  It is my understanding that for oxycontin 30mg - every so often 30 mg of oxycodone is released (instead of just the one time of the other)OXYCODONE DOES NOT COME IN AS HIGH A STRENGTH AS OXYCONTIN.  OXYCONTIN NOW GOES UP TO 80MG AND EVEN USED TO BE MORE.  I BELIEVE THAT OXYCODONE GOES TO 40  (someone will say if that is not right).   SO.................the 100 million dollar question - how are the Oxycodones working for you and your pain?  They had no effect on me (though Im sure they helped my pain - but me being me - didn't believe that at the time).  I was, at the end, taking about 6-7 80mg oxycontins a day (snorting) totally about 500mg.  Also with the Oxycontin - the way ppl abuse them is to crush and eat or snort (usually) so that the extended release or long lasting is not able to do what it is suppose to do and one is able to get meds for 12 hours in an instant.  That's what I did - so the 80 should have released 80mg a few times into my system throughout the day - I was getting 80 times the # of times it released ALL AT ONCE>...and this usually lasted less than a few hours for me - or at least what I thought.... b/c of the way I took it.  I hope all of that makes sense.  This is night number 2 for me w/ no sleep and Im a little fuzzy...lol
