To Wondering

Hello wondering- I just wanted to give you some advice I'm taking myself & want you to know what your going through has been my life for the past three years. The first week is hell and you will get over that. The hard part is the mental issues (Craving) and that alone is the main issue that draws us back into the state of mind to take a pill and the depression is and craving are over. What I'v just started that saved my life two day's ago was Suboxone.I have NO cravings and don't want to even take an advil.I have walked on faith prayed & the lord guided my into the correct direction because I like, you have the want to quit and notice the meds are causing you issues in life.I been on OXY for 3 years because I was in a few IDE'S in the middle east and the monkey on my back turned into a gorilla.I pray thing's are getting better for you and if not, look into the medication "Suboxone" It's a life saver

Yup I agee 10000% with the top posters. There deff needs to be some counseling or 12 step program along with the subs,or its just pointless. We are addicts, there is a reason we took/take our drug of choice. And until you work on why you can never truly heal. I also think subs should be taken for the shortest amount of time possible because in the long run you'll run into issues once again.

A great post on Suboxone.  I started to respond to your post and realized that nothing else needed to be said.  Your post is one of the best 2 paragraph summaries of Suboxone I've ever read.

Hey, glad to hear you're feeling good and your life is better. If you served, I thank you. I think it's important that people realize that Suboxone is a great treatment for a specific profile of addict, but it's not for everyone. Suboxone is an opioid just like drugs of abuse. It is addictive and has potential negative side-effects. It certainly has a place in treatment, but it should be a last resort and ideally only used for the minimum amount of time possible.

For those that can't stop using Oxy or H no matter how hard they try, Subs are a very good step in the right direction. As life comes back under control, they should be looking to taper off Subs (in partnership with a good therapist). For someone with a relatively mild Vicodin addiction, getting on Subs would be a horrible mistake.
