To rsd_al: about RSD

Hi.  I see your posts a lot and have a couple of questions if you don't mind.
My aunt had what they thought was a heart attack recently and she was hospitalized for it.  They said it was congestive heart failure. They wound up doing an angiorgam and sent her home that same day.
She was put on lipitor for her cholesterol.  Now, one of the side effects of the lipitor is leg cramping, which she's had a few times so severe that it's woken her from a dead sleep.  She said the pain was absolutely unbearable. She now has numbness in her foot whenever she walks accompanied with slight pain in her leg and the doctors refuse to take her off the lipitor and are pretty much ignoring the pain experience and the numbness.
My question to you, after going to your website and reading your story is, do you thik it's a good idea to get another opinion?  Reading what I've read about RSD (and I only heard about it through your posts) it seems this could be something more serious than a simple side effect of the cholesterol medication.
I'm sorry to take up a post here about this but I didn't know what else to do.
Thank you so much,
Tara

Lots of things can go wrong with the angiogram. One is that they can accidently block the artery as in my case. Then there are the epople that had the femoral nerve get nicked during the procedure. It is pretty painful too, as they kno\icked mine during the surgery to remove the clot.

Some people have reactions to the plug. A device to stop the bleeding faster than just holding pressure on the artery. It causes some kind of infection that can be very painful.

Check this site out to see if any of your aunts symptoms are related.
