Today is day 16 for me!

I just wanted to say that I was on here 14 days ago freaking out, basically on the verge of going insane. And today I am 16 days clean without a single hydrocodone. The first week was absolute HELL. I tried everything. The Thomas Recipe, everything. And the only things that seemed to work for me were to take walks to try and keep my mind off of it, and dramamine!! It helped big time with the nauseua. I just want to give hope out to all the other people that are just starting cold turkey, as I did. That there is light at the end of the tunnel. I still have cravings I still want to use, and I think that is something that will forvever haunt me. But that is why addiction is a disease, and it's all about the choices YOU make. As you can tell I am quite proud of myself, but I literally thought after 3 days I was going to say screw it, and start using again, but for some reason I stayed strong. Everyday is a blessing to wake up to my wonderful husband and know that I am going to have a clean day. I am feeling things again that I never thought I could feel, and as strange as it sounds I LOVE IT!!  I've completley changed my diet, and am going to the gym 3 times a week. I am also now involved with my sister to raise money for people in Haiti. My life couldn't get any better. Thank you everyone on here for your awesome words of hope and encouragement. You are the ones to truly thank. Without you, I am sure I would have relapsed, or never quit in the first place. And for everyone out there just starting out...THERE IS HOPE! GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

I needed to read that right now. I am on day 2 and going through hell right now. Reading your post brings me hope. I feel awful but keep reminding myself there is a light at the end of the tunnel but there are times that voice creeps in and says screw it go and take one and you'll feel better but I have to shut that voice up. That voice has led me to an awful place that I want to get away from. Thanks for posting this, it came at a time where I wasnt sure I could make it.

Thank you! It definaltley helped put things in perspective (sp?) for me. Just knowing these people don't have anything and all I cared about was getting my next fix and getting high. It was pathetic. The people of Haiti don't even know they are partically to thank for helping me stay on the right track, so I figured the best thing I can do for them is to help raise as much money as I can!
