My Dad was an Alcoholic & he said it first-the older he got the harder to stay sober. My experience is similar to his , but with pain pills instead of liquor.
I'd get off the drug completely for 4-5 years, then go back. Over& over.
I have to make this my last go around. This drug is effecting me in such a bad way. It keeps me so depressed. When I quit smoking, I said, I'll never be the kind of person who starts & stops .. So I only stopped once.
The past doesn't equal the future. The only thing that matters now is that I'm on the road to recovery. Right? Pamela
Just remember you are not alone many many ppl around the world are in your EXACT position, going through the EXACT same thing you are right. IT CAN BE DONE!!
oh and PS I totally agree the older you get the harder it is.
Thank you for the encouragement. Staying busy is hard for me. Good news though,I made it out of bed & got up to the new Art studio today for the first time in a whole year. Pamela
Hi Tray Cee-- Indeed it's a long road. The older I get the harder it becomes I think. One thing about me though, after the hell of the wds ( I did cold turkey last time) I made it to day 26 with a whole set of new withdrawals..probably because to complicate it I fight BiPolar II. My Pdoc has me on a 6 med "drug Cocktail. " I will need you guys! Thanks Pamela
Its good to hold urself accountable. just keep busy, do the next right thing, and b true to yourself. ur stronger than yesterday
Its a long road, if ur committed, you'll be fine!
GOOD LUCK!!
