Took my last pill yesterday

by girlybuff, Dec 28, 2006 12:00AM
Hi. I took my last 2 7.5 hydros yesterday.  I was going to start taking tramadol to deal with the withdrawal but I read a lot about how it causes seizures and I was scared.
I feel like hell.  I am sweating so much I feel like I'm wearing a winter coat on a tropical island.
My question is can I expect this to get worse than what it is now or will it pretty much be this for a week or so?  Like is day 3 and 4 worse than day 2?
I have a 4month old daughter that constantly wants to be held and I can barely do it.
I'm hoping this is the worst of it because this is manageable although horrible.  I just keep telling myself that I have the flu.  I've had worse flus than this.
Anyway, if you cold give me a heads up I would appreciate it and good luck to all those out there trying to quit.

Thanks!!!  I have been taking 800 mg of motrin every 8 hours, and a multi vitamin and drowning myself in water.  Like I said it's VERY uncomfortable but I don't feel like I'm going to die.
I just want my life back.  I'm 5 years sober from alcohol and every other drug and became addicted after being prescribed these things for a herniation.  I have an addicted personality and probably shouldn't have allowed it to go on for as long as I did, but hindsight is 20/20.  I just want to get up and go to sleep and leave the house and play with my daughter without help.  I marvel at how "regular people" go about their daily activities without pills.  I used to feel that way about drinking though, like I couldn't imagine doing ANYTHING social without it but now I can't imagine ever picking up a drink again.
I thank GOD for all the support here.
Ihave a friend who has vallium and theyoffered it to me.  I think I might take her up on it.  The hardest part is feeling like this and knowing it's from the pills.  It's ahead game.  If i were sick, I wouldn't be counting the days or minutes.  I would just accept the fact that I were sick and let someone take care of me.
Thanks again!

Hang in there!

I know how you feel - but keep reminding yourself that you want to be there - the REAL you - not the pills - for your daughter.

I have also found - not that it works every time - but BIG, DEEP breaths help with the aches and cravings.  On top of the staying hydrated, vitamins and such.

Keep checking in with us - I know that this forum has helped me see the light - and is getting me closer to the clean state.

If you have anyone around who can help you - meaing, help with the baby - that would be great - lean on them and just let them know you are tired - and see if you can buy yourself a couple days of help with that!

You go Girl.....It's a miserable road...but it does get better... this is day 8 for me.   Bad night last night I could not sleep.... but don't feel so bad today.

My WORST day was day 4....it is getting easier.  And today, eventhough I am a bit weepy.... it's not so bad...

Drink, Drink, Drink... lotsa fluid.  I have entirely lost my appetite, but I've been dosing on a lot of vits.     This is surely one Holiday Season I won't forget.   Hopefully the new year I'll be "new"....

Write here when you need to.  Ask questions if I can help I will...

Wishing you the best

Hey G:

This is my fourth day. Aside from ringing in my ears and tired feel okay. I would Take the Val. at night to sleep. Sleep is a must. Those 4 or 5 or 6 or 7 or more  hours are a Godsend away from the misiry. Oh yes and a hot bath, as hot as you can stand it...here the aches and pains vanish and you can deeply sigh and regroup. I know you have a appointment to see a Doc. next week for Sub. But if you can make through this weekend, well it is all downhill and you won't need the Sub. (Unless you want them then go for it.)
You are right about counting the hours. Where as if you had the flue you would NOT count the hours. Strange how the mind works. I mean what this is is just a real bad flue. That is  the long and short of it. People and in the movies tend to make detox. more then what it really is. I try to look at it like this: junkies are arrested and locked up. They are given nothing to help with detoxing. They are in a small cell surounded by unfriendly people and poor sainitary facilities. Here is where they detox. If they can do we can do it .

I just finished my 3rd week.  Yes, fluids are important.  Also, in my case, I was getting muscle cramps.  Make sure you're getting enough potassium.  Along with a multi, I started eating a banana a day, and the cramps are gone.

Hang in there!
