Tram substitute for suboxone

Okay I know A few of you had read and posted on my previous posts about using suboxone to come off of percs. Well I have in and have taken percs for roughly 4 days now after I finished my last sub. I had too much pain to keep going. So my doc perscribedy tramadol. Would me taking the tramadol very sparingly help with getting me through the wd off the percs like the suboxone did?? Please any info about this will help greatly

In my opinion inwould not use tramodol unless it was for pain only.
Yes it will relieve withdrawals because it is a sunphetic opiate.
If you have been put onto sub i really dont yhink you should be going onto tramodol as subs is meant to help you wean off your addictionn maybe be a coping mechanism while you are getting treatment eg counselling for your addiction.
However, this is just my opinion n you should always seek medical advice first.
I wish you good luck n all the best.

20 trams isn't going toi make enough of a difference in w/ds to even bother.  And, actually, there is a better chance they will make you feel worse, because they will prolong your w/d, so rather than being through the worst of it in 3-4 days...you'll have to add a few days on for the tramadol.  PLEASE listen to what the wise people are saying.  You need to break the cycle of turning to "this" to get off "that".  You're just chasing your tail.

Plus, look how many people posted that they ended up hooked on the trams following the exact plan of attack you are trying?  And almost every one of them said tram w/ds were WORSE!  Worse than heroin even.  THINK ahead..learn from others who are telling you how bad it was.

Flush them and get started on the road back!  We'll be here for you.

Hi MikeyCy

You are doing EXACTLY what I did and now I am detoxing from Tramadol.  I used Suboxone to get off off my heavy Perc abuse, started subs and then it was so intense I started on Tramadol to ease the suffering.  Little did I know it IS highly addictive and the WD's are worse than the Percs and the suboxone.  Stop as soon as possible.  Please.... Please dont follow in my footsteps and suffer as I am.    It's okay....  What you are feeling now is soooooo much better than the Tramadol WD's you will be facing.   Stay Strong!

It will prolong them. You will still be in withdrawal when you stop them. The toxins need to come out at sometime.
Don't let fear it. Keep yourself busy. Use immodium. Eat bananas, rice, apples and toast. Take Epsom salt baths.
You got this. Stay positive. We want you to succeed. There is healing it will take time. Please be patient.
Sending support and encouragement ,
Debbie

And plus I don't have any refills at all. I had broken my ankle that's the only reason i even failed at the sub attempt :( it was going so good to an I had very high hope about it. Oh well I'm still going to try my hardest this way and I really don't want to let any of you down again. You are all so caring it means a lot

I know a lot of people that don't have the will power to stick to a plan once they are set on it but that's one thing I pride myself on. I plan on taking 2-3 a day for the first couple days then maybe 1-2 for a few more days then if I'm not feeling any wd ill be done completely. WILL THE TRAM HELP SUBSIDE THE WD OFF THE PERCS?

OK just be sure you don't call the Dr. and ask for a refill when those 20 are gone.  Tram is sneaky like that. You don't think it's a problem until it is.

Hi. I have to say I agree 100% I am a heroin addict and trams are 10x worse to come off then heroin. I kno from experience. Please don't take them!!! For ur on sake . I can promise u u will regret it when bits time to get off them! I'm also on subs bc of my heroin addiction and if u taper the right way u should have only mild wds. Of course everyone is different but if u taper down to the smallest piece u can u should b just fine. Please PLEASE take all the WONDERFUL advise were all giving u. Were saying these things bc we care and don't want to see u worse off!! Good luck!

Hello - just want to confirm all of the above...please don't even start with the tramadol.  I have been on both ; withdrawal from the tramadol is much harder than the percs.  The anti-depressant takes the emotional & depression problems to a whole new level that linger for a long time.  Not worth it!

I was going to say just what Atthebeach said..Just taper or jump and be done..It is not as bad as you think..I jumped off of three meds..The detox will be over and then your life will begin again!!!

And mikey, you've been a member here for a while.  You know the drill, right?  This plan is a recipe for disaster.  Please, PLEASE, it's better to just CT now.  As Debbie said, what are you going to take to get off the trams?  This never ends, and you know it.  (no judgment, I know exactly how you're feeling right now).

Debbie's right.  Taking the tramadol is only prolonging the inevitable.  Tramadol is awful to come off of.. please reconsider this plan.  And taking only the minimum of the trams?  I promise you, it won't stay that way.  You'll start taking more and more of them until you develop a brand new addiction.  This stuff is the worst.  Don't even start, please!

what will you then use to get off the trams?
when will you get off the merry go round?
your life is waiting for you.

I don't know much about sub however, I am currently tapering off of tramadol and can tell you it is extremely hard. Others here have said its worse than just a regular opiate....because it acts like an antidepressant too. I don't have that to compare it to but like I said all I can say is that it's hard as heck right now! I wouldn't advise anyone to start it, if you have a choice.
