Tramadol abuse withdrawal

by ollynn, Oct 26, 2009 09:14AM
I have been abusing Tramadol for a year now.   I was up to 20 50mg pills a day (that equates to 1000 mg daily).  I stopped taking them this past Friday.  I am now on day 3 without any and I feel terrible.  How long will the withdrawal last?  I need to get back to work!

If what you say is accurate you can expect to have a seisure any time now. What you are doing is EXTREMELY dangerous and you need to taper more slowly because it is too much shock to your system! No wonder you feel terrible, please don't do that to yourself! aheart:(

I know how you feel. I am coming off a 30-35 day habit. I went one day and was completely sick i couldn't handle it so i went to my family Dr. and told him what was going on so he perscribed me tramadol with instructions to tamper off and now I am on my 2nd day of coming off it with the way i am suppose to take it and i feel great. I feel as if I never had any withdrawl systoms. So give ur dr a call and they can help no matter if you abused it or not. I abused it and told him and now I feel so much better...

Unfortunately, tramadol and seizures go hand in hand.  I'm surprised you didn't get a seizure while taking that many.  But you either need to taper or get your doc to give you some sort of anti-seizure medication.  Tramadol is a lousy medication and many doctors won't even prescribe it anymore.  Good luck.

You need to get ahold of your doctor and let them know what is going on.  These need to be tapered as there is a risk of seizures.......sara
