Tramadol recovery

Tramadol recovery

Hi all, So, I was 9 days sober from tramadols and yesterday I had a relapse. Basically work got extremely stressful and the depression set in BIG time. I couldn't focus and felt like I didn't want to get out of the house. I took 1 pill to get through work and today I took another one. I was taking about 20, 50mg a day before I stopped cold turkey 10 days ago. My Doc will write me a prescription for Wellbutrin and I'm picking it up tomorrow. Will that help me with the depression? I use tramadols because of my depression not for pain. I was on AD before I got addicted to Trams but after I stopped taking Paxil, I found out about tramadols and was hooked. The physical symptoms of W/D are bad but for me, the depression is the worse part of all! When I take tramadols, I feel so optimistic, smart, motivated, like I can take on any task at work. in fact, I've accomplished a lot at work after I started taking the trams. I'm afraid that without the trams, I will never be the person I want to be and get to where I want in life. Has anyone experienced a similar situation?

Thank you all for reading and responding to this post.

It may help but something like effexor might help you more .Tramadol works as a pain reliever and an antidepressant like effexor thats why it was working for you depression .I guess what I wonder is you said you used it for its antidepressant quality not its pain relief why did you keep raising your dose was it not working on your depression anymore ?

Yes.  Tramadol is the demon-drug!  It is so hard to get off of it, because it's a double whammy.  Like taking an opiate and an AD.  The wellbutrin will help, I bet.  I had to start on one a few weeks after I detoxed from tramadol, and that has been over two months.  I feel much better!

You will be better before long.  Hang in there!  If you have anymore pills, FLUSH THEM!

Actually I should say, I started Trams for pain but I continued taking them for depression after the pain was gone.
