Tramadol withdraw

I have taken  Tramadol 2 times a day for abt 8 months after being diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I got tired of taking it so I have decided to go cold turkey.  Its just day two and I am miserable.  My legs are giving me a fit.  I can't explain how they feel other than they are just so weak and weather I am  laying down, walking or sitting, they ache and feel like restless leg syndrome.  I decided to stop taking it for one reason I didn't want to be dependent on a drug to get me through the day. Also, I stayed constipated for days  at a time.  I have Xanax, but really don't want to take that either. If I do I'll take it to sleep.  I have to go back to work tomorrow and I don't know how I will make it. Is having leg aches and feeling restless  withdraw symptoms? What can I do to get some relief?

The Thomas recipe will help it tells you what will help.  Cold turkey is pretty bad I went college and trained in substance abuse addiction and cold turkey may do more damage than you can handle.  I suggest that you taper down that way you want have withdrawals so bad then you maybe able to quit cold turkey. Hang in there.  It will get better.

Bananas are great for the RLS (something to do w/the potassium) - and others have taken the Hylands Restful Legs with quiningand had great results (think it's the quinine that does the trick with that).  Exercise is good too (if you're feeling up to it?)

And you are right about being careful w/the xanax - way to easy right now to develop a cross addiction.  And benzos are awful all on their own to get off of.

Good luck to you!  (and welcome)
