Trying to cope with the withdrawls from Oxycodone abuse

I was taking about 60mg of oxycode on a daily basis. It was strictly for the effect. No real medical need. At this point, I am broke and now feeling awfully sick. I had a few tabs of soboxine that a co-worker sold me but those are gone. I'm on day 11 with no Oxy and day 4 with no Soboxine. I thought that by now I would be feeling 100% better but that is not the case. I still have the insomnia and really really bad restless legs. What can I do?

hey jesskess, i am at the same point as you i am actually 11 day clean 100% off anything but i can say is you are actually on day 4 because the subs prolong the withdrawal process.. So with that being said you aren't that far along yet but please just try and take it easy .. I still find myself being so anxious and also today as you know i have been going through it all over again for some reason.. But i'm definately not near as bad as it was since day 5 .. But we will get through this.. And also how long were you taking the oxy's? i was a norco 10/325 12-15 a day abuser.. And it has been so horrible but i did find that taking vitamins and also gabapentin helped alot with the actual symptoms and you can also look up the thomas recipe that helped me alot bananas for the rls including hot hot epson salt bath i also do relaxation calming bubble bath also if you can get someone to massage your legs helps relieve in the pain for a bit.. But i also went and bought a heating blanket i take it and fold it and only wrap it around my lower legs and it seems to help alot i also take valerian root 3 capsules and 3 meletonin i take so many of the melatonin because they didn't have the 5 mg pills and i also take 2 gabapentin and i actually sleep all night.. And also i take a multi vitamin along with vitamin b 6 and b 12 just some things i do .. Please feel free to contact me anytime .. And also are you wanting to stay off of these pills??? that will make a big difference as to your outcome .. Anyways your doing great although you don;t feel like it you are and cheers too us my friend on our sobriety..

I am definitely wanting to stay off the pills alltogether. I appreciate all the advice you have given me. I looked up the Thomas recipe and it seems to be helping a bit today. I took a double dose of Nyquil last night and I was able to sleep all night, finally! I still feel very groggy today though. So the soboxine is a bad idea? If I take it every couple days or so is it gonna just make the withdrawls last forever? I was taking the Oxycodones for about 18 months. I just want it to all be over. I want this in my rearview as soon as possible without having to miss any work as i have recently gotten a very good job.

congrats to you for trying to get off the pills. doing this is the first step to getting your life back. i think that taking subs to get off the pills may be trading one pill for the next one - but that's just what i've seen other members here post. then again, it works for some. everyone is different in that aspect.

and the fact that you only took the pills for 18 months is sort of a lifesaver as well. while many can become addicted within one month, at least it wasn't 7-15 years like some...like me. i used and abused for seven or eight years with vicodin. if i could take it all back today, i would. and i did, by getting clean and sober. 413 days under my belt. and i plan to never look back.

keep up all the good work, and keep us all posted on everything as well.

hey i just wanted to tell you that yes in my opinion it would be trading one pill for another.. And i know that you just landed a good job and you are thinking of that and there is nothing wrong with that.. But you do need to put your self first and also if you do plan to take the subs please i urge you to only take it for a little bit ok and i have been told that sub withdrawals are far worse than many opiates.. So please keep that in mind. what i would do and did do is bite the bullet and go through the withdrawals, how long have you been at your job?? hey i also took nyquil the first few nights to help get some sleep and whats funny is that it works wonders..

Anyways please keep us updated on your progress and what is your plan for aftercare?? i am on day 12 on detox and started NA meetings it was ok but i think i might look into AA instead.. Just some random thoughts lol..

Talk to you soon my friend and i do commend you for fighting this hard but necessary fight..
