Whether or not it's a 'very high' dose is tricky to answer. For some it is for some it isn't.I would venture to say, from all the reading I have done here in the past year that you're dose is more or less the 'norm' of members that are addicted to the same drug as you.I share the same doc as you and I was up to taking that much,on some days a little more, when I was in active addiction.

20 x 7.5 = 150 mgs....and u r ingesting 10,000 mgs of tylenol per day...toxic level...if u r taking lortab or other forms of hydro that have 500 gs of tyenol per pill be it 5mg, 7.5 mgs or 10 mg tablets..all have 500 mg of tylenol...there r some forms of hydro with only 300 mgs of tylenol per pill and some made with ibuprophen...4000 mgs of tylenol daily is the max allowed without being toxic

150 mgs is a substantial habit comparatively speaking....i was at 80-100 mgs a day and my tolerence was growing each day...it gets u so quick/tolerence does...making narcotics not such a great drug to use long term..which is hard on chronic pain patients like myself.ur habit is enuf to be definitely worried about/and I would gather u r abusing as no doctor in his right mnd would prescribe someone this dose in one day...there r several wqays u could quit..u r still not so high that u couldnt CT,...but too much more than that would make ct a nightmare and it still wouldnt be a cake walk...u could taper down then quit as well..making a plan and sticking to it is so important..and it also takes alot of the anxiety away that I am sure u r feeling right now...finding a meeting near u would be a big help to u..also reading thru the health pages and learning as much as u can about this disease..good luck to u and keep posting

Yes that would be how much hydrocodone you are taking daily,, yes it is a high dose but mine was between 200-300 daily,, I am now 30 days clean from going cold turkey,, You can do this and you will survive!!! It is very hard to go through detox and recovery if you don't make the best of it.. your body will first detox the drug and that will act like a really bad flu... Once your body has detoxed the drug it will start healing and your mind and body will then become very sensitive,, It is quite a journey but it's the only way to beat the drug.. if you keep letting it live your life it will at some point consume you.. The best thing I have found is to try and keep yourself distracted and try to be positive about it.. Know that it is the only way to regain your life and that it's the body's natural way of dealing with the abuse we have put it through, time will heal all of these things that we must go through in recovery....Have you checked out the amnio acid protocol?? If not it's at the bottom right hand side of this page, I would really recommend taking them, they will help your through detox and they will help your mind and body heal properly,,, If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask because there are many people here that will help you through this process if you need it.. Are you taking the drugs for legitimate pain??

Hey there,my name is christos and I definitely know how you feel..was in a bad situation with a severe addiction to snorting heroin, oxycontin, and dilaudid for almsot 3 years.I was enslaved to pills and powder, it was daily battle to get that next fix/high..its absolutely de-grading, terrible, and overpowers anyone no matter how strong one amy think they are..you are correct if you take the vicodin es(extra strength) it contains 7.5 mgs of hydrocodone per pill, but also at the same time which isa bsolutely terrible for your liver, I mean like take years off your life damage, 750 mgs of tylenol..yuck..When I was unable to find any H or oxies I would ahve to resort to doctor dshopping alla round the Milwaukee, Wi area and in Northern Illinois, giving a ridiculous, yet genious sob stroy about my back, ankle, chect, etc...I would always leave with a script for hydrocodone or Percocets (oxycodone) and a muscle relaxer like soma (carisoprodol, cyclobenzoprine (pointless stupid pill), baclofen, etc..The huge problem with that is over the course of my addiction through the years I racked up on my dad's insurance that I was under with over 55 medical bills not fully paid for all having to do with me, ******** pain, and getting lower streength opioids to at least make me get to normal feeling, get rid of some of the terrible wds..Oxycodone by itself, such as Oxycontin is 50% stronger than hydrocodone (vicodin, norcos etc.), and Heroin is about 10 times stronger than Oxycontin. The typical descent into opiate addiction starts usually at lower potency opiates/opioids like codeine, darvon, which is the weakest of all opiates where 100mgs of darvocet is equivalent to 650mgs of aspirin, its that low. Codeine is considered to be the second weakest opiate and is prescribed very frequently commonly in the form of Tylenol 3's. There is also the newer opioids, Tramadol, is a synthetic partial opioid and also acts as a rapidly short acting SNRI anti-depressant, so that leads to some of the euphoria felt, but it is overall very weak, in terms of  abuse, but it is very addictive like vicodin because of its unique abilities. Most people who take tramadol are not told that it is addictive cuz it is currently unscheduled in the US making it easy and prescribed all the time. More ad more everyday doctors and peoople are find that its not what they originally said about tramadol. Approximately 60mgs of Codeine is equal to 150mgs of tramadol, yet with its rapid acting anti-depressant features that add to its pain killing capabilities, but not to its positive high/buzz, making prescribed quite often for more severe pain that what codeine or darvocet would be given for. Then you move up to moderate pain-killing opiates like vicodin-it all of its forms and dosages, and a few less known and prescribed opioids like Talwin (Pentazocine) or Demerol (Meperidine). Both Demerol and high dose hydrocodone products like Tussionex ( a syrup with 10mgs per teaspoon) or any form with 15mgs and up are both on the verge of being in the next class of stronger opiates. Then low dose formulations of oxycodone such as Percocet where it only contains 5mgs of oxycodone and 325mgs of tylenol is often prescribed where some doctors feel that its about as potent as a higher dose of hydrocodone like Vicoprofin, tussionex, 10mg Lortabs or Norcos. Then you have strong opiates/opioid. Some are alot stronger than the other one, but are all only prescribed for severe pain and are a lot harder to obtain. You have Oxycontin/Tylox (only pure oxycodone), Dilaudid (Hydromorphone) which is 6-9 times stronger than heroin, Heroin, MS Contin/Kadian (Morphine), Fentanyl which is very potent over 300times stronger than heroin, many overdoses with it, Opana (Oxymorphone) 9 times stronger than heroin, Buprenorphine which is about 25 times strogner than morphine, Methadone, ver very strong and addictive, both buprenorphine and methadone are treatment drugs for opiate addiction, but unless its a severe addiction to a strong opiate I wouldnt recommend or feel its needed for your case or anyone with an addiction to percocets or vicodin no amtter how many or how bad it is, suboxone (buprenorphine) is a little less addicting and is more suited for that. I ahve been on methadone for voer a year now and the wds are terrible, its definitely does not not give you a high,s ame w/ suboxone, they both give you a buzz, but they last for more thana  day with each dose. Dont end up liek soo many ppl I know and hear about every day, I would love to help you get a taper plan to get off of the vicodin. It ahsnt been to long and the wds will pass within a week, you jsut have to set up a tapering schedule that fits your needs and your bodies reaction/wds. It is definitely doable and I would be more than happy to work with you and come up with a schedule or anything else you amy need. After going low enough you could even switch to a lower potency opioid like codeine, darvocet, or tramadol for a very short period and get off all of the lower opiates completely. I know it seems scary and impossible, but i detoxed, and from this wonderful forum, I have helpedand seen ppl everydayget off and stay off of opiates for good. I strongly strongly recommend it. It wille ventually destroy your life and your liver (first) and you wont stick with vikes for too much longer youll move up fast to oxycontin then to H etc..so on so on, its a terible circle that always leads to the same road/conclusion-incarceration, death, or institutionalized...let me kow if you need any help or ahve any other questions about anythinga tall im always on and here for anyone..i wish you the absolute best-christos
