UPDATE: short term detox from norco using methadone

Just wanted to update all of you who sent me such kind and inspiring words. This is the 5th day of my plan, which was 3-4 days methadone, very low dosage, to keep the w/d's from norco at bay and then be at day 4 and clean from norco but not yet dependent on the methadone. I took 2.5 mgs of methadone 18-19 hours ago and that was my last dose. I had topped off at 20 mgs. the first day and took it down from there. So far so good! I feel okay, unless the methadone is still working and the w/d's haven't kicked in yet, but the first 2 days I could feel when it was wearing off and still on Sunday morning (day 3) I felt w/d's in the a.m. took 5 mgs that day and felt sorta high and nauseas so it seemed that the norco was almost out of system, hence the "high" from the methadone which I did not like, thank god. I think I am going to be okay!!!! Any comments would be appreciated and also if you think I am not in the clear yet that is okay too, I want to hear the good and the bad!

Congratulations on sticking to your plan, that really is half the battle. I just wanted to warn you that methadone has a half life so you may not feel hot in a couple of days. You shouldn't feel serious wds but you may not feel as good as you do now. But knowing is half the battle so as long as you're prepared to handle whatever comes your way you should be fine. Stay focused and stick to the plan - congrats on the progress keep it up!!

Congrats!  methadone can grab u a few days later as can sub...but if u were on it for only a short time..i am willing to bet u r home free....physically...dont forget aftercare...this disease doesnt go away when wds end..i never knew that..it is also in ur brain!  stay positive..stay focused..and always be aware that u r @ risk..relapse is never more than a pill away..a bad day away....and u gotta stay strong
