In trying. I have enough for a weeks taper and I'm gunna take the doses as far apart as I can. Like when I start feeling totally sick I'll take my next dose and lessen them along the way. I hope this works. :(

if you're going to taper, you need to stay on a strict schedule. what you're planning to do is basically white knuckling it until you need the next "kick", if that makes sense.

to be honest with you, i am not a doctor and i didn't taper when i got off of the pills i was using and abusing....vicodin.

but, i do know that there are PLENTY of members here that did do the tapering method, and i believe [if i'm not mistaken, but don't hold me to it] that they've all, for the most part, commented to other members about how they need to keep to a strict and slow schedule. this is at least what i have read.

since you only have so much left right now, you may want to talk to your doctor about tapering. if and when you're completely honest with your doctor, a lot of times you'll see that they're more than willing to hep you out and/or work with you. and then, it could be the the other way around.

Please don't freak- yes I know it is easier said than done.  I am currenty tapering off of lortabs/hydrocone.  I will tell you that during the typer process will feel the pain of detox just not as intense.

If you can typer that is Great I hear that it is not has hard on you body as c/t.  You have made the first step and your in the right place for support.

I was thinking about coming clean to my dr. But I cannot have my family find out. I really want to I have an amazing dr and I think that would be best but I dot know just yet. Any other advice is appriceates greatly.

Well if you can taper and really stick to it and never ever taper up.  I would really try to do so.  I plan on jumping off really soon and I have been tabering - well today is actually my ninth day.

If you really want to and set your mind to it you can slay this demon!

I only have a weeks worth to taper with so that's the issue but I can do it and hopefully it will ease the pain a bit and the rest Ill tough thru :/

HEY Lynn if you do it like you say and wait as long as you can between doses you will soften the blow when you run out
this is not a great taper but its better then nothing and as I have said it will soften the blow of your final withdrawal hang in there keep us posted and take care of that baby good luck and God bless......Gnarly

When was your last dose? When should your next one be? How much did you take prior to tapering each dose. How much are you taking now each dose?

Tapering is mentally difficult. You feel sadness and physical discomfort. Just not what CT is. Remember its not whether you ran or walked to the finish line. Cuz at the end when clean. Everyone is a winner. Whether thru taper or CT.

It'll be easy to take just one extra pill and make up tomorrow. Soon your begging for one more fill to stop to CT wd's.  Don't let the wd's take over. You can do this. Post. Post and post some more ;) remember. Even with tapering. One day you will be done. No more pills.  Don't think of how many pills you got left. Don't let that eat at you.

I put half my pills away. So what I have is what I have. This way if you can't stop counting. Your counting a lower amount. Your pushing harder to the finish line  If I can taper and one day not need that next pill. I win :) remember. No one is better than another at the finish line.  Whether tapering. CT or any other means. When your clean. Your clean. That is an amazing feeling.

hi Lynn how goes it......with the methadone if you dose every few days you should be ok try to stretch it out as long as you can it will make for a less sever final withdrawal try to find someone to help with the baby when your dope sick it will be hard to care for here and go threw that at the same time so ask mom or a sister or good friend for help your going to need it coming off this way good luck and God bless.......Gnarly

I'm running low on meds since tapering myself isn't going well I think I took too much tonight so I may be done tapering here in a few days. Wish me luck all.  Thank you for your support gnarly I may lean on you too quite a bit. Today I for the house spotless clean and everything ready for this sickness about to hit me. I arranged it to my liking and to where I feel most comfy. I can do this!!

Ps would it be bad of I bought more to longer my taper. My fault was not separating the doses it is all on one bottle so I was guessing. But in goin to separate them now and get more to taper with but it'll Be my last buy.

I can't tell you how many times I said "it'll Be my last buy". You need to make a decision and get a plan in motion here. Just saying you will do it won't work as you are finding out. A week is not a proper taper and will not help you much. At some point you will need to get off the merry-go-round. We will be here to support you whatever you decide and can help make some recommendations.

I know you are not trying to use hun. I know you are trying to lessen the blow of withdrawal---we all are or did. It's hard to taper.

Do you have anyone who can hold the meds for you and dole them out according to a set schedule?

Nope I have to depend on myself. Right now my mind set is just either I follow the seceduke or I suffer thru the pain. And. The last thing I want is the pain. So I'm doing my best :/

Hey Lynn, Just want to lend another ear for support. No doubt this affects us physically, but it's the mental nonsense that will do us in. Stay cool while tapering and stay on track. If you find you are sticking to you taper, by all means get more to lessen the crash so you can care for your baby. If not you need to CT and get this behind you. You alone can weigh that out. Either way, routing for you! xx
