As tramahater says, Epsom salts are the very best thing for a racing heart.  If this is the main thing stopping you from quitting, you may want to talk to your doctor about a short course of beta blockers which would remove the systemic effects of the noradrenaline until your nervous system stabilises.

Best wishes.

Hi Kristina! I have been off of tramadol since early March, and I can tell you that if you hang in there through those spells of anxiety and restlessness, you will be so much happier and better off!  I was on about 15 a day when I quit cold turkey.  One week was the worst of it!

Here is what helped me.  Take hot baths.  Several a day if you need to.  Exercise. It helps to wear you down so the anxiety doesn't seem so bothersome.  Use advil and tylenol, alternating, with a heating pad for aches and pains.  There are some OTC things you can get if you are having other symptoms, but for the anxiety, the things I listed work better than anything!  Baths.....LOTS of them.  Put epsom salt in them too!  That will help you more than anything else! : )

Keep posting here, ok?  You will get so much help!

What withdrawal symptoms in particular are you having that made you go back after 7 days.  Generally the worst is over by then, especially after only 2 months use.

Rebound depression is quite common with tramadol withdrawal due to the antidepressant part of the drug.  If you are having mood disorder, you may want to talk to your md about an antidepressant.

It's worthwhile sorting this out now as you are already over the recommended dose & there will be a risk of seizures if you increase your dose further.

Best wishes
