Update....Day 5 off the Suboxone

Ah I finally made it..... I haven't posted in a bit because I was getting too anxious about what I had to do, and fearing the w/d.   I just had to do it, and wait until I had some days in and was feeling better so I could post....

Day 2 was hard, but I had gone to the emerge a few days earlier and got some Tylenol #3's to help with bad symptoms.. I know some may think that is cheating but I we are all different and I used them to get off a 10 mnth suboxone habit so even if it was just the comfort of knowing I had them it worked....

Day 3 and 4 were the worst, but I got threw them...it was mostly head stuff.. It feels like I am leaving one world and I'm in a real horrible space for a few days.. even my taste buds seem to be affected.. Anyway I just got threw it..

Today day 5 is much better, and I can see recovery again.. My head is feeling more normal, I have more energy, and I am so grateful that I was able to do this..

I have been thinking of Pillguy and Readytobefree and their stories, and support helped me... Knowing they made it.. I hope you are both doing well.  And I have been thinking of Pjktwenty.. how is it going... I really pray you continue with your taper..

Suboxone has it's use, but it is too easy to abuse and to become addicted to it... It is a very strange drug.. I felt that anyway.. the natural opiates like codeine and morphine seem like there are more physical w/d symptoms not pleasant by any means, but they don't cause the hebe jeebes like the suboxone does.  I can't speak for heroin but I'm sure it is the same.

Anyone ocnsidering using Suboxone please be careful.. Understand it should only be used to break a serious opiate addiction, and please keep it to the lowest dose possible..  Less is more with suboxone..

Look forward to being a support again to those walking the same road....

Thanks pillguy for your  encouraging words and faith in me.. it helps a lot..

I sure had myself in a bad place for a few weeks, and I am just so grateful I was able to stop when I did.  I know everyday will get better and better and soon I will be feeling as good as I did when I had reached my 6 month mark, but this time I will be way more prepared to beat that stinken thinken as soon as it rears its ugly head.... and never be too confident.  I know I have this disease for life, but it doesn't have to have me.. :)

We are very proud of you!  Faced the beast head-on and told it, "No more!"
The worst is behind you but there's still work to be done.  You WILL be leading others to freedom by living the example we've already seen you display here.
