Using benzos for the w/d

My hubby's using benzos to help with his withdrawal off methadone. Not every day and not very much but my question is...
Will he develop a dependancy for those too?  
He's got 2 more days on 1mg of methadone then that's it!!!

Great advise. His doctor is very good, it's really me that's worried.... he's doing so well and I'd hate for him to end up with another addiction after this hellish ride!
I'll monitor his useage for him over the weeks to come. He's feeling really rough at the moment. He almost cried last night. The anxiety, insomnia, just not being able to relax.

I just went C/T from a 4 year 600 mg oxycodone a day habit with the Thomas Recipe and used Ativan .5mg 2x morning and night. I would not have been able to get through it without it and for I am thankful and am stopping after tonight. I will let you know if I face any withdrawal but I highly doubt he will due to such a short period of time on them. He will need to increase his dose in the days following the end of the taper of m-done. I advise 2mg before sleep and 1mg in morning and again if needed during the day.

My doctor prescribed two benzos while I was going through withdrawals from Lortab as well as Phenegren and I had no problems.  If he is monitored closely on the benzos he'll probably be fine.  Only he and his doctor can know if this is something to worry about.  I also went through therapy and so it helped tremendously.  Good luck and prayers headed his way.

It is so hard to tell major problem is how addicting benzos can be .However coming off of methadone is hell .I would ask him for the bottle of them so you can keep an eye on how much he is takeing .Normally my advice would be stay  far far away from them but with him coming off methadone is just so rough
