Try to focus on the doctor's diagnosis, it is much more likely to be an infection than cancer at his age, I assume he is about your age, is that right?
But I understand completely your anxiety, hopefully you will know soon that it is "just" an infection.
Stay strong and keep posting.

I'm so sorry and I hope and pray that your husband does not have cancer. I just said a prayer for you.

I hope and pray everything is all right with your husband. I have never been in a situation like yours before, but I hope I can be a shoulder for you. I think you must stay in the mentality that everything will be ok and when you feel upset look to us for help and support. I'm here if you need me for anything at all. Just try to stay strong for your husband because if your worried it might worry him even more. I wish I had the greatest addvice to give you but I for sure can give you a shouler and a prayer.

It is very wise to get a second opinion. He will, no doubt, require a biopsy to determine if it is anything other than inflamation (inflammation). I have prostate cancer and have had it for years. I had no indication at all that I had it. It was the doctor's idea to check due to my age. Even today I feel nothing to indicate I have it. I get a check up every six months and so far there has been no change. It is extremely small and hasn't increased at all. You have to relax and not get yourself all worked up. A man has gas and thinks he has ulcers. Another man has a pain in his chest after a hearty supper and thinks that indigestion is the beginning of a heart attack. You hear so much about this disease and that disease and the myriad of ills that are splayed all over the television screens to the extent that you are slightly brainwashed into running to the doctor with life threatening ills that are generally cured with a sugar pill or the like. A lot of ills are in the mind.
I remember as a young man, when I had a burning sensation while urinating, thinking that I had a social disease. It turned out to be nothing but a slight viral infection. This, by the way, wouldn't be what he felt, would it?  Unlike women, men have a habit of overreacting to an illness. We moan and whine and cover ourselves with blankets while wanting to be served hand and foot. We dose ourselves with ever medicine available and when we recover we tell everybody"Oh, it was nothing."

mangee - thank u as usual for the smile.

chros - this is the perfect time to not think about the pills and concentrate on your husbands needs.  In the end, I pray that he will be fine and you will have gone a lil longer w/out..... making it that much easier.  All the best to you and your family.

sincerely,
love, tracy
