Vicodan Norcol - 6 tabs 100/325 per day LIVER

I just had my bloodwork done and don't know how I am going to live w/o pain killers as I have nerve damage, re Multiple Sclerosis.   I take  6 /7 or 8 tabs a day  I am very careful

What are the markers in a blood test  that tell you your liver is  hurt?   My "BUN" ratio  went from 11 ( 10 is the bottom of normal) six months ago    to 6..7   this past week > I read that is lever damage.  Now my kidney loins  hurt - doc hasnt called to review my tests and I am mad  going to urologist ASAP re: kideny pain but it could be a muscle pain as it comes and goes and I am aslouching couch potatoe.   All other urinary functions seem normal  I drink tons of water and have puffiness.  MS  also  presnets itslef with "hugs"  ie{ muscle spasms that make you feel like you are being squeezed.   IS OXYCONTEN better than vicodan/norcol  or is anything better  that doesnt contain the tylenol factor.    Any answer is appreciated.    Particularly if you know  what to look for on my blood work  lab results  readings  that "tell" you about your kidney and liver. I haveno pain in my right side by my liver and pancreas  just the kidney loins    THANK YOU

Oh and Vicodin/Lortab is a short acting pain medication meaning its half life only lasts 4-6hours and then wears off,,thus you need more. If you are routinely taking it pretty much every 4-6hours you should consult your doctor and discuss a long acting pain medication. Also keep in mind that these drugs are highly addictive and are abused. Im not quite sure if that's an issue for you or not. Check out the pain management forum also,,this forum is more for addiction and drug abuse and people that want to get sober! Feel better soon! ~Bkitty :))

Have them check you liver function panel. That's an awful lot of tylenol that you are ingesting daily. That is a high BUN what was your creatinine? Elevated BUN and Creatinine are indicitive of kidney issues. Bilirubin in the urine also can indicate liver damage.Oxycontin is a long acting pain medication that does not contain tylenol/acetaminophen but its sister is percocet or oxycodone/tylenol. Please consult your doctor asap! I wish you the best~Bkitty
