Vicodin and Alcohol use and Liver damage

by Tammy Turner, Dec 02, 1999 12:00AM
I have been using vicodin daily for 5 years.  I started out taking  1 tablet daily now I am up to 4 a day.  I am also a drinker.  I do not drink everyday, but when I drink I drink a lot.  Lately I have not been feeling well, my lower back hurts, my stomach feels swolen, I vomit a lot, I get headaches, and have pain on the right side of my stomach.  I am concerned that I may have damaged my liver.  I want to stop taking the pills but I am afraid to talk to my doctor, because then I will be cut off for could.  If I do talk to him what is the best way to get off the pills and If I have done damage to my liver, can the affects be reversed after I stop using?

Well, my freind, I too have the similar problem, however, I do not drink only take lots of vicodin for three years now.  I think it may be too late.  Talk to your doctor.
