Life gets better every day. I have gone through detox several times. You can read my post "Repeat Lortab Withdrawal". The problem is, once you start feeling like your "old self" again (if you can even remember who "your old" self is), you forget what you went through getting there.
I went through detox in the middle of April, coming off of three years of SOLID, everyday, use. I was up to 70 to 80 Lortab 10/500 pills for the last 7 or 8 months. I thought I was going to die. The hospital got me through the detox part and then I was discharged. I was so weak and so certain that I would never feel good again. And then, by week three, I was well enough to travel with my fiance. I would guess it took me a good, solid 6 weeks to feel great again.
Then...about a month ago, I decided it was a good idea to take some Lortab. What an idiot I am! I am furious with myself. Now, I'm a month from my wedding, and having to face withdrawal again. I'm so glad I found this, forum, though. I've been reading posts all day. I wish to GOD I had found it a month ago. I may never have picked up that first pill again.
I plan to spend a lot of time here over the next couple of days as I withdraw. I'm so mad at myself, I hope it hurts badly! I'm not going to take anything to help, short of, perhaps, some Benedryl to try to get some sleep.
Hang in there. IT DOES GET BETTER!
H! I'm with you.I'm about a month clean with a couple slips.I also am an emotional wreck some times still.how much xanax are you taking?i have been taking a little as needed and sometimes i think it makes me more anxious and depressed when it wears off.
Was the xanax prescribed by your doctor in combination with the prozac?how long have you been on prozac and xanax?I hope you start to feel better soon.God Bless.Bruce
no, it's not what your life is going to be, at all. if you look back though many posts here, you will see that it is very common to still feel what you are feeling.
the only thing that DID jump out at me in your post is the prozac and xanax - if you are taking BOTH and it is NOT under a physicians supervision, they could be contradicting each other... you might check that out if you haven't already.
anyway, i am going to let the folks here who are more qualified than i to talk to you about this, but no marsh, this is what I've read over and over and over that everyone goes through... there are however, some things you can take to help with it.
hang on buddy.. and keep posting...

no the rest of your life wont always be like this, it will get better day by day, one day at a time (be careful with the xanax) i am on my 9th week and still having some difficulty, i am also taking xanax and 80 mg. of prozac...my doc told me she wants me to switch anti-depressants, maybe you should check into whether prozac is working for you. there are other anti-depressants that work better for addictions symptoms and anxiety, i am hearing alot about cymbalta...its worth asking your doc. about... youre doing great if your at week3, keep it up...you will feel better soon....
