Vitamin C: what is too much?

~ I went to a nutritionist doctor at the top med center in Northern California. I told her I was having trouble getting the pills out of my life after my second back surgery.  She smiled and let me in on a secret.  She prescribed me 30 grams of vitamin C a day.  5 grams in the morning, then 2 grams spread out every hour on the hour, and the 5 grams at night time.  She also have me take other vitamins in much smaller doses ~ similar to the Thomas recipe on this site...but the main focus was the Calcium Ascorbate (Vitamin C).  She also said I could take Sodium Ascorbate which is sodium (salt) instead of calcium.
~ The result: I wouldn't believe if I didn't live it, but, after 2 surgeries and 8 years of struggling with this I have had zero, none, nill symptoms of withdrawal. In fact today I cleaned my house after 7 hours of sleep.  I have been off 350mg of oxycodone for 3 days.  I feel great.  Not only physically, but, mentally.
~  Please share anyone's experience with vitamn C.  I know this looks like a large amount, but, I it feels so good I want more!

Hi,
I tried to private message you and add you as a friend, but it would let me do neither. Would you send me a private message? I am desperate to talk to you. Thank you.

Thanks for posting this. I'm doing a high dose protocol right now for a Hep C flare-up. Did your Dr. tell you anything about how long you had to take the C in order to incur some of the negative effects I've read/you're talking about (kidney stones, increased risk of heart problems, low C levels upon stopping and blood sugar issues)? Thanks for your post!

August --are you telling us the truth? I don't mean to be rude, but it sounds too good to be true. Vitamin C will reduce or eliminate WD's? No way.

I just got off the phone with her.  she said yes the tummy stuff is natural but the kidney stones would happen if you kept up that dose.  Only go for a week at that and then cut down slowly to normal.  It works wonderfully.  Like I am angry I just found out about this.  Wasted years and here I am totally cured.
btw: there has been studies done with great success. You can find them.

I know that your body probably needs quite a bit over the normal RDA while under stress and healing. Not sure how much more though. I know that an 'overdose' of vit c can cause tummy problems and sometimes kidney stones which I can tell you from personal experience are NO FUN!!
