Hi there I'm new to this but I've got the answer to what ya asked because I'm going through the exact same stuff. I decreased my Fentanyl patch from 100mcg to 50 the to 25mcg. After 3 years I decided I'm done and never put on another patch it's been 24 day's now. I also got off of methadone and MS contin in the last year all with the tapering approach. DO NOT use Suboxone it is just as addictive and as bad for you as what you're already on, they push you towards it when detoxing from Methadone and don't buy into it!!!!
Do it in steps first the patch because you can only decrease to 25mcg and should never cut them in half people do but the distribution of medication in the patch isn't exact and you won't have a measured amount, plus it may be absorbed into the body at a different rate than it's supposed to.
You can try and take some Benadryl to help with the crawling feeling you get when you go to NO Patch, lot's of water and try to have a clm and quite environment. If you feel like ripping you're skin off or like you just can't to it. Talk to someone, take a few trips around the block if you can, have someone rub you're back or leg's to relax the nerve's and provide comfort.
After you get to this point you go onto the next drug. I really am against the cold turkey method with the Fentanyl Patch I went through severe w/d and almost killed myself (not on purpose, I didn't know my mind was on vacation). Please write me or others for support anytime I'm up all night!!!

I was only on the patch for 5-6 weeks, just went off today. Can't sleep, feel pretty ******, physically and mentally. I was thinking of taking 750mg of vicodon to go to sleep, is this stupid or ok? I read up on this patch that it may take 48 hours to get it completely out of my system. I'm not itching or anything but I would like to sleep? your thoughts, please
