Weening of of Xanax and Ambien Cr

Can any one tell me the proper way to ween off ambien CR12.5 mg and xaxax 0.5 mg  2x a day on and off for about 8 yrs? I don't want to be depended on them>

I don't know about Ambien but I do know xanax and you need to do a very slow taper with it there is the possibility of seizures if you stop suddenly do you have a doctor you can ask about tapering? xanax w/d is very ugly and last alot longer than opiate w/d you will have anxiety times 100, no sleep shaking panic attacks headache muscle aches depression,the list goes on,nausea,vomiting, potty issues,anger issues,crying for no reaon sensitivity to light sound and touch, go to benzo.org and they can give you alot of info good luck to you
