Wellbutrin and shakes!

by helpjen, Oct 29, 2008 11:13AM
Well I didn't even think about what the wellbutrin could do to me. I reacty badly to many meds and stated one tab a day of the wellbutrin 9 days ago, the last 5 days the tremors in my hands and body have just increased and increased.  Doc just told me the wellbutrin could very well be causing it- too bad i took my pill already this morning.  I don't know how i'm going to face anyone today shaking like this!

Is that a common side effect of wellbutrin??  I need to know cuz I am suppos to start on it next month

i take Wellbutrin everyday for more than 4 years now and never had a problem with it.

it is not really a good choice for someone with an anxiety problem...never heard of shaking from it but it can increase anxiety if someone is already anxious and can cause sleep difficulties for some..not all....i liked it but i am not high strung...it did end up affecting my sleep tho so i had to stop and i really tried hard to lower my dose etc so i could stay on it as it helped my doomers and fatigue so much....dont know but do what ur doctor tells u to do...it is good for people who r dopamine deficient...most tram addicts are seratonin deficient tho..not sure of ur doc but listen to ur doctor and find the AD that works for you

To: Wellbutin and tremors not common
It's not a common side effect, but I reacted very similarly to topamax.  I also have lupus which my doc says is playingi into it. Havent' seen the rheumatoligist yet- a 3 month wait- and I have pull!  But my appointment is next week.  I digress

Now that worried878 mentions it, I am much more anxious since starting it.  I didn't think I was anxious before, but really ,really am now.   I am still sticking to my vicodin taper though as I can't be sure that it isn't playing into it too.  SO far, so good, only 4 vicodin today, but my pain in out of control, but it sure feels better that worrying about the amount of narcs I am taking.

I know lots and lots of people on wellbutrin that haven't had any bad side effects, helps with sexual side effects, and greatly helps their depression.  Don't let my experience scare you off if you are deprreseed.  I don't smoke, but it also suppresses the urge to smoke in some people.

I'm taking Wellbutrin and started about 2 weeks ago or so and have not had any side effects.  I hope you find the answers and that it will go away!  Good luck and my prayers are with you!!!

all ADs have side effects unfortunately...lexapro made me not sleep well.also..i would not start wellbutrin during wds tho..or tapering...only during the extreme fatigue and depression that can follow wds for some...its capacity to affect sleep is not good during wds...some people have depression that makes them not be able to get out of bed..or to where they go to work and lay on the couch/loss of motivation and lethargy..those are the people who respond well to WB...anxiety type depression does not respond as well...tricyclics usually help those types of depression,,it just depends on ur chemical make up and deficiencies..an ssri for seratonin is another choice and these work well for most/like lexapro/zoloft/etc..
it is a bumber to have to try ADs to see if u can respond well to them!...most ADs affect my sleep that I have ever tried..except elavil...it helped me sleep and is the only one i ever took long term..2 years after and during my divorce
