Is there a chance my primary doc or pain management doc will take me back.  They know my story..will they just help me as I need it now?  That has been my biggest regret..dissapointing them?  Should I try or is it hopeless?

Your post was very encouraging to me and honestly your story is so much like mine, although I never got caught doctor shopping.

I am 7 days clean today and have a meeting in awhile I am going to and feeling good about that.

thank you all for letting me hear your stories...I thought maybe I was the only one this has happened too!  this is my first day without a pill...I have tappered down yesterday I only had 1 10 lortab.  they are gone..night started out real bad..then about 3am got into a deep sleep.  I am scared to death! at times I almost feel paralyed...I am praying for every moment that I can get through..the mental part is ----!!!  thank you again for encouragement!

Wow, Sad, I've been reading your dilemna and MAN can I relate! Everything you say makes total sense to me! You are not crazy, you're an addict, like me. It is SO embarrassing to get caught! And the doctors treat you like a criminal too! Many of them do not understand this is an illness, which needs understanding and compassion, not accussations and labels. You know, this whole thing of addiction becomes a sort of lifestyle, and once you're stuck in it, it is HARD to get out of!!!!!!I guess in the end, the question becomes..... do you really NEED the pain meds for real pain, or are you chasing the high? For me, I've chased teh high for 10 yrs. It's always good when you first get something, then It's Slavery. ....just one more, just one more, then I'm gonna quit for the day, then they are all gone and you are TERRIFIED!  I know where you're coming from, man! I KNOW. I guess we have to decide, do we want to keep going on with the search for happiness in a pill? Or do we really want to live??  I havent gotten there yet myself. I am just as scared as you are!  If we believe in a God or some kind of higher power, let's pray it will lead us in the right direction!!!!  Love to you all on here! this is an aweeeeessssome website!!!!!!

HI well I got caught...my new pain management dr called my primary to  find out both where writing the same scripts....I dident even get a phone call just a certified letter from my primary dr stating that he could no longer see me because he would be risking his license because of what I had tried to pull.....the pain management dr office refused to set up any more appointments so I was left to find a new doctor...and this was b/4 the age of having all the pharmacy linked by computer....I guess the pain management dr just had a hunch...so goes it when you dr shop....I was lucky it ended there.......Gnarly

thanks for the advice! .. my point was she was my family doc for 15 years..knew everything about me and I just don't want to start over..she had me on prozac for the past 12 years and I have excurciating migraines and she treats those..oh well..I did it to myself and I have to make peace with it and move on...find a new family doctor

Yeah, I gotta agree with IBKleen here.  I would leave them alone!  They could really get you for that.  Believe me...I'm not judging you, personally.  I did it too back when I was on pills.  Lots of people doctor shop but not all get caught, obviously.  AND.....they don't usually want to see that doc again!  You may be the first person I have seen who actually wants to go back to a doctor after that.  You're braver than I would be!!!! : )

Find another doctor, ok?

I would not try to see either doctor if I were you. Count yourself lucky that neither of them reported you. There must be other doctors in your area?

No not wanting pills...just wanting to continue relationship for neck injections with pain management spine specialists and primary doctor if things come up like strep, flu, general things you go to primary doctors for ie. antibiotics...I am not going to doctor  anymore for pills.. I am done that was the only and last time because of neck pain and a fall I took last summer..this was a situation I got in from severe pain and it got out of hand..my fault..I just want my relationship back with primary doc...I have tried with letters but no response and they won't even talk to me.  I am trying to fix something I did and they won't listen....they know my story its not like they would even give my any more pills.  My daughter and husband go there too...they don't even know I can't go back..it will come up sooner or later.. I wouldn't go to either one if you are wanting opiates.  What are you wanting them for right now?  The reason I ask is because you could probably go to another doc, and tell them your situation and maybe get some help??  But I think that after they dismiss you as a patient for something like that, they are pretty much done.  

If you need help with something major though, please find someone to see even if it's the ER!

I would only contact one doctor and ask for help because by getting the same opiate from 2 diffrent doctors you were doctor shopping which is against the law .So neither doctor is probably going to prescribe you any more opiates but they may give you some meds that help you with the wd   .  So if you have a good relashionship with your primary doc I would talk to him.Good luck let us know what happens

I say it is worth the shot, i mean the worst thing they could do is say no, but they would and u never tried then you will never know. i wish the best of luck to you and hope you feel better, and let us know
