you are very wise. it is hard to do what we have to sometimes. stick to your guns and i hope he comes around. let me know how you are and how it goes.
Thanks - you've just described him to a tee. He is very cranky in the a.m., not interested in sex one bit, moods all over the place, pin-point pupils. I used to notice him being itchy, but haven't noticed that sign as of yet, but then again, he's back to sleeping mostly in the recliner. I know he is abusing again - I just need to get strong and do my thing which will probably be tonight when we get home.
Well, my next confrontation (after proving same again) will be that I cannot make him want to change, but I do not need to live with the lying, money issues, and waiting for him to kill himself. I've tried once, and if he would have told me (without the lying) that he was relapsing, I would have definitely been very open to trying to help once again. Once I prove that he is lying, he will be told that I can no longer live my life this way, but I still love him, so he either has no choice but to do it my way or time to leave. He will have to do whatever it is to once again get off the drugs and definitely go to NA, AA or see someone, and I need to see that it is being followed through. I've been through Alanon before, so I do know what I need to do - it's just to be strong enough to do it.
heres some easy things to look for in him, does he suddenly get very chatty or happy, lots of energy. Are his pupils like pin heads. Is his itchy at all. Also if its your husband or boyfriend a dead give away will be difficulty ejaculating or keeping it up for long time. Does he wake up cranky first thing in morning? Theres lots of simple signs to catch it, the talkativeness was a dead give away for me. Plus being lovey dovey. If hes snorting it he will have the drip also and will be clearing his throat and nose alot.
Have you suggested some type of aftercare. NA?AA or even an addiction counsellor if he wants it remain private. the getting clean for most is the easy part...its the staying clean that gets us. i am sure when he is clean he is awesome..most of us are. high i am a beast too. lol there are usually underlying reasons for why we relapse..until we deal with thse we usually go back to our DOC to deal with those. i so will keep you both in my prayers..and see if you can get him in some kind of aftercare.
Thanks for the information. I do have a couple of drug tests (but they are for urine). I'm not sure if I can actually get enough residue to test same and now, I actually have to wait until I see a little more. He won't admit same to me, so I have to have evidence and then do another confrontation and try once again.
He did try the Sub and was on it for about 6 wks and then weaned himself off in order not to become addicted to another opiate. He seemed to do well for quite awhile and stayed on the vitamins listed. I started noticing changes in the last couple of weeks and so I've been keeping my eyes wide open. I know I can't make him want to quit, but when he is clean, he is wonderful and he is a very good person. I hate seeing the drugs take over and kill him.
I'm so happy for you being 7 months clean. I still have you in my prayers.
urines 98-99% water you cuold put the residue in water and see. Cant hurt.

it will detect oxyxodone. You can get it at walmart, cvs etc. It detects lots of stuff.
i dont think the drug kits are for testing residue. they are for testing urine. when you say residue you mean you wiped the counter with your finger and it was left there??
thanks. just made 7 months clean woo hoo. lol i dont know of anything that you can test it with. so sorry to hear you think he is using again. addiction is hell not just on the addict, but especially to the ones that loves us and have to watch us destroy ourselves. did he try the sub??
very bitter and distinct. But most oxy abusers aint leaving $hit behind, i can tell ya that lol. They have home drug kits now at pharmacys so you could check one of those out.
Hi Cathy - I am glad to see you are doing well. I'm really sad I am back posting, but I do think my b/f is relapsing once again.
Yes, maybe a little. I was too scared to try very much. I do not drugs and never have. Do you know of something I can do to test residue to see if it is Oxy? Thanks for your response.
yes it is bitter. especially when you first snort it. the drip from it is nasty. hi how are ya doing?
I dont know ,did it make your tounge and gums numb?
