What drug

My little sister is on various prescribed medication, including somas, and has been for some time.  Lately however she has had a couple episodes where she disappears to the bathroom and comes out no more than 5 minutes later completely loopy.  Shaking, incoherent, stumbling, almost no motor control, and finally passing out (usually on the floor in which ever position she fell in).  Once she passes out it is almost impossible to wake her, save for maybe a few mumbles and a collapse in a different position.  We thought at fist that maybe she was overdosing on somas or mixing it with alcohol, but this last time she went into a subway bathroom and came out a couple minutes later this way.  We’re beginning to become suspicious that another drug is involved (and its def not any of her other prescription medicines).  Any thoughts on what it could be?  Do the symptoms sound familiar to anyone.  We desperately want to help her but need to know what we are dealing with first.

(Note these episodes seem to mirror some that took place a couple months ago and she admitted to using something other than her prescribed medicines then but wouldn’t say what.)
Thank you in advancce for any help or light shed on this issue

Have you considered calling 911 when she passes out? The hospital can do a tox screen and see what she's on, and maybe help her see how dangerous this is and maybe help get her into treatment. She won't get in trouble or anything (if you are in the U.S.), patient privacy/HIPPA laws make it illegal for the hospital to share her info, even with the police unless they had a court ordered warrant, which wouldn't happen unless she was in legal trouble already.

If she's in the bathroom for a few then has a reaction so soon after, whatever she's doing she's probably snorting or injecting it. I normally wouldn't recommend this but it sounds like she's in a very dangerous situation, could you get into the bathroom while she's in there? Maybe if you can find out what she's doing you can get more info on how much danger she's in and what kind of help to seek. Regardless of what it is though she needs help quick, I'd call her doctor and tell them about this and see what they suggest. I wouldn't rule out anything, not even heroin, it's amazing how quickly and easily we addicts can get hooked on something or move from one drug to the next.

No prob any time you have a question or anything feel free to msg me and i will help as much as i can but yes it does sound like oxy and soma and it is a very very common combination among addicts and i hope and pray that she is not on herion but just make sure you look her over for marks from shooting up just to be safe but like i said if its not that then she is snorting it but when she does get like this do u notice her itching alot, sweating and another thing that is a dead give away of opiate use is the color of her skin she will turn really red all over thats how i always used to get caught

Thank you so much for your replies.  She is 21 and yes she lives at home.  She was in car accident that hurt her back rather badly and was prescribed various medications for it.  I don't think she's on herion, though that will be easy enough to find out :).  The oxy soma mix sounds like something she would do.  She isn't prescribed oxy at the moment but i'm sure it would be easy enough for her to get.  Thank you so much for y'alls responses.  Hopefully we can sit her down and get help for her asap.  And thank you for the prayers :)

i agree with atthebeach it sounds like herion but it could also be oxy because mixing soma with oxy will knock you out like that to so try and figure out if she is prescribed oxycodone along with soma because usually they are prescribed together at pain clinics and as far as going to the bathroom for 5 minutes she could either be injecting herion or oxy or snorting either so check for marks on her body from shooting up and if none is found just kinda try and look for any kind of powder around her nose from snorting because it is def one of the other going on in that bathroom and im sure that is not what you want to hear but the sooner you find out what is going on the sooner you can get her help so good luck with this

Good Luck and Godspeed

i understand the concern you have for your sister it is justified.  if she is mixing drugs and also drinking she is treading on very dangerous territory. how old is she?  why has she been on somas and other meds? it definitely sounds like she has crossed the line. sounds like she is shooting probably heroin. have you found anything in the bathroom or on her? has she been wearing long sleeves? sounds as if she definitely needs intervention.
does she live with you or your parents? i would contact the prescribing doctor and tell him your concerns. your sister  needs to be confronted in a big way. ask her questions and tell her you want answers. tell her you are there to help her because you love her and dont want her to hurt herself.
i will pray for your family,
debbie
