its bad i always did the same thing. crush up my pills and snort them. crush them up when i was high so next time i wouldnt even have to take the action to crush them when i was feeling bad. You stop with support. i havent went to N/A but i get a lot of support from family that have been through bad addictions. this site also helped me a lot, reading other peoples kind words and advice. you stop with desire, i was told that my desire to quit must be higher than my desire to get high. and you need distractions especially at first, do hobbies that you love to keep your mind off withdrawal. i will be quoting gnarly_1 although he is not the first to say it but withdrawal is 1/3 physical and 2/3 mental. Good Luck

Hey there,
ang_811 is right; we cannot do this on our own. Obviously if this is your 3rd or 4th relapse, then you're approaching getting clean the same way, and it isn't working. You need to approach it differently. I'd say the first step is absolutely getting outside help. Go to a meeting as soon as you can. Even if you don't have insurance, there is help out there for you. You can see a drug counselor or addictionologist. I'm guessing that in the past, you tried to quit on your own. As stubborn as we can be as addicts and as invincible as we think we are, this is something that we need help with. I have yet to hear of someone quitting totally on their own and staying clean. It's just too hard to do, we need guidance.

I tried too many times to go it alone. It never worked. You have to admit to yourself that you're powerless over this. I have yet to go to a meeting myself, but I believe that it's one of the steps, maybe the first one, to succumb to the fact that you are powerless over your addiction. I relapsed so many times in the past due to the fact that after I went cold turkey, I was ok. I was done with the pills. So if I could get off of them on my own, why did I need someone else's help? Part of my hard head syndrome was how I was raised to just tough it out and stop bitc*ing. But another part was just the fact that I was clueless and in denial that I needed extra help, aftercare.. Then the relapse would come. Finally I put all the avenues together instead of one here one there. I surrendered. I got all the help I could find and due to that, I'm almost at one year of not abusing drugs. It was a long road. A rocky road. It's still hard, I still have temptations, but like I've said in other posts, my good days outweigh the bad ones now. I have good days that are the rule and not the exception. It gets better each moment that you are further away from the hell that is addiction.

You have to be ready to stop, you HAVE to get aftercare/outside help, you have to get rid of the pills and cut out of your life whatever is supplying you with them. If it's a doctor(s) - that was my supplier - then you have to be honest and tell them you are an addict. It's hard, it's embarrassing, but if they're a good doctor then they'll help you. If it's a drug dealer or 'friend' (not a good friend), then they have to be totally cut out. This is easier said than done, but if you're serious about getting sober, then you'll do whatever it takes. It's a fight. It's a war. But you can win it. It's mini battles in a long lifetime war. You can beat this if you want it bad enough. Take a look around, look at what you're doing. You know it's effed up, but you can't stop. I know, I've been there a thousand times. But if you don't stop, you will end up in jail or dead. Those are the options..want to pick one of those? Probably not. but that's where you're headed. You'll only have to take more and more to run after that high you won't get. And what's it all for? 20 minutes of numbness only to come back down and feel horrible and guilty and like a loser. I'm not calling you a loser, but that's what I felt like when I was doing pills. So to deal with those bad feelings you do more..and more...etc., It never stops. You have to stop it. You'll lose everything.

You just have to take those first few steps to drag yourself out of hell and back into reality. It's the hardest thing you'll do but it's worth it. Please let us know what happens..I don't know you but I'm so worried for you. Please get help asap and know that we're here for you, we're all in this together. you can do it...take care and please update us...xo

By snorting the pills u r trying to get the high that much faster. So yea thats bad. I first started taking the pills orally and then as time went by i had to crush them and snort them bc i needed that instant high. You have to want to really stop and really b ready to fight. What r u taking and how much?

As addicts we cant do this on our own. Its called whiteknuckling sobriety. We need some sort of aftercare wether its na/aa meetings or an addciton counselor. We get the tools we need to stay clean and sober and also get to the root of the issues of y we used in the first place.
