What to do?

Hi I wrote about this a week ago and I just can't shake this scared confused feeling.
I go regularly to my dr for norco for pain in my back. I have been on the about 4 or 5 yrs. always the same amount about 5 to 6 a day.

My dr called in on Monday for a refill and the pharm... A big chain said "we are not gonna fill them anymore because I've been on them too long" I got a lot of responses from you all about how this is not unusual but I'm reading all your posts and people have been on these for years and the pharm doesn't reject them...
I guess I'm scared that I'm in trouble or something? That sounds weird but why would a pharm all of a sudden not refill when it's been from the same dr and the same number of days between?

Anyway, I decided I'm gonna start to get off these so this whole week I've taken less each day and wow.... It's hard but I only take them when I start to feel that chill sick feeling. It's hard. This is not gonna be fun. I have a question though ( sorry so long) but do different pharmacies share info? Would I not be able to go somewhere else? Is there like a red flag on me? I'm so anxiety ridden....

As long as you have used the same doctor and pharmacy you shouldnt be in any trouble.  I would discuss this with your doctor also and let him knoiw the pharmacy is doing this.  As for your taper, make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids.  You may feel increased pain for awhile too.  This is rebound pain and it does subside.  Many of us found our pain actually got better once we stopped the meds.  Stay close to the forum as we are here to support you.

I just wanted to offer support in your attempt to tapering your pain medication. Due to the recent changes in the dispensing of short acting opiates, I , too, am considering tapering as well. I also wanted to tell you IMO I don't think you have done anything wrong thus you shouldn't be worried about that. Chronic pain pt's everywhere are realizing that their care is being dictated by no longer them and their PMP but rather government and insurance companies and it is shameful!! Good luck in tapering!!

I would try a different pharmacy and tell your doctor about it.  See if your doctor can help u with a plan of tapering down. To help with the withdraws that u are going to have remember to eat and drink.  if u feel like u can't eat a little at a time all day every few hours and drink water or gatorade.  And keep posting u can get a lot of support on this site.
