What will I experience with quitting Suboxone cold turkey?

What will I experience with quitting Suboxone cold turkey? I have been on Suboxone for about a year and currently take four milligrams a day. I can't afford to keep up with this habit and want to feel normal again. I've got three 8 milligram films left and want to use them wisely if this gets too devastating. I have a five year old son and a job as well as other responsibilities and I guess it'd be good to note that I suffer from depression. Thanks in advance. I really want to make this a late New Years resolution.

I didn't notice any difference from 16mg to 2mg!!  except that I wasn't falling asleep all the time.  I have no idea why they start at such a high dose.  For me under 2mg is the tough part, but doable, very weepy, some anxiety too but tolerable.  Keep posting and you'll get a lot of support on here!  take care and send me a message if you want!!

My doctor and many others suggest .5mgs before quitting. 4 mgs is like 160mgs of morphine, but leaves the body 3 times slower. Tapering down low will not stop withdrawals or how long they last, in my experience and observation, but reduces the symptoms a lot. Amino acids, multivitamin, Cal/mag/zinc, and EmergenC helped me most for reducing symptoms and increasing healing time. Drink lots of water and get Epsom salts for baths as hot as you can possibly stand it. Many have jumped at 4mgs, it can be done. Because of depression and responsibility, it is common practice to do a slow calculated taper, skipping a day and two days at the lowest final dose. I feel your chances of of success would in erase tremendously, and you only want to do this once, right? Keep hanging around and you will get plenty of opinions to choose from, especially with subs, but most agree, taper as low as you can. Keep us posted.

Don't jump off that high of a dose! I did it 19 days ago and I'm only just now feeling slightly better.  I had restless legs, insomnia, anxiety, my entire body shook and I felt like total **** up until today! Please listen and taper down as low as u can. I wasn't smart and am paying for it, don't be a dummy like me lol. Wish you The best of luck!!!!!!

Welcome to the forum Demnolia. I don't have any personal experience with subs. I do know that 4 milligrams is still a very high dose. There will be others around who  do have experience and would help guide you thru the process. What were you on before the subs?  I know the length of time using and the amount of time makes a difference in the withdrawal process. I wish you the best of luck!
