What will taking Advil do to my recovery from Vicadine?

What will taking Advil do to my recovery from Vicadine?

I am on day four or being clean and up untill this day I have not taken any form of pain killer.  I had to help family today and had another migrain.  I took two advil just to get the edge off enough to function along with my heart meds which I am on short term for migrains.  I was wondering if I opened pandora's box...I finally got some sleep last night and am having a better day but the headache.  I really would hate to loose ground because of a stupid mistake.  But it is a choice already made...so what should I expect?  Thanks for all and any input.

Blessings.

You definitely did not open pandora's box. Advil is a safe, non-narcotic pain reliever and for many a lifesaver to manage pain in a safe way.  You lost no ground by taking Advil.  I could never have made it through any detox without Advil.  Maybe others think differently, but I highly doubt it.   Now as far as if its OK to take Advil with whatever meds you are on (heart meds etc) - that is a question for your doctor.  But if you are asking if you compromised your sobriety or clean time by taking Advil - the answer is NO WAY!  And congrats on that clean time.  Today is day 5 for me also :)

Advil is perfectly safe when you're trying to clean up from pain killers. When I was on day two or three, I had to take some over the counter Tylenol for some of the pain I was still going through from my back and my leg. There's nothing wrong [or shouldn't be] with taking anything OTC in the form of a pain reliever.

Congrats on getting to where you are -- and I hope you continue to post here and let us know how everything keeps going for you!

Thanks all.  I knew Tylenol would be real bad for me and was hoping Advil would be better.

Blessings
