When Will I Feel Better?!

When Will I Feel Better?!

Hi...I was taking about 100mg of percs and or vics for 4 years, then brilliantly switched to heroin for the last 4 months. I went to detox 3 weeks ago, and it was hell, but I'm sooo glad I did it. I'm not really having problems with cravings, although my mind does mess with me from time to time, but meetings every day help that alot. My problem is, I still feel like SH**!!!! When, does anyone know, will it get better? My skin is still crawling, my stomach is in an uproar, my mind is foggy, blah blah wha wha. Anyone gone through the same thing? I know I did this to myself, but these withdrawls are lasting way longer than I imagined, and I dont' want to use to feel better, I'll just be in the same sinking boat! Thanks!!

hi and welcome! i have been down the heroin road more times and for more years than i care to think about right now. my question to you is...are you doing anything to replenish your body now that you have stopped? on the right hand side of this page down toward the bottom are some really good things you could try. the thomas recipe(the part that applies since tou have already detoxed) and the amino acid protocols are a good start. lots of folks on here have other suggestion of supplements and such. we have to undo the damage. perhaps this would help you in getting back to feeling more like you used to before. i hope this helps. good luck and prayers to you! sway

Hi,

I think everyone is different, but I would think you should be feeling better soon.  I am 15 days clean today and I still feel like crap here and there.  I've been exercising and hoping that helps.  I'd say a good month maybe two, but REMEMBER you are over the hardest part and try not to go back down that road.  You are doing GREAT!!!!!    I think it just takes a while for our brains to get back to normal....after doing all that sh** and being numb for sooooo long.  It's kinda like, you're gonna play, you gotta pay...type thing.  I know that is what I tell myself on my bad days.  You are strong and can do this if you want to bad enough.  Best wishes!!!   -Violet
